AILET PG 2027 registration ongoing: apply by November 10 for LLM admission

National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) commenced the registration process for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) PG 2027 on August 7, 2026. The examination is conducted for admission to the Master of Laws (LLM) course offered at the university. Interested and eligible candidates must complete their application forms by November 10, 2026.

The AILET PG 2027 exam is scheduled to take place on December 13, 2026, across multiple centres nationwide. This national-level law entrance exam is exclusively for NLU Delhi’s programs, distinguishing it from CLAT, which serves other National Law Universities. NLU Delhi does not accept CLAT scores for admission to its courses.

AILET PG 2027 Important Dates and Application Process

The official notification for AILET 2027 was released on July 23, 2026, initiating the admission cycle for the LLM program. Candidates are advised to visit the official website, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in/register.html, to fill out their application forms. The university will release the admit cards for the AILET PG exam on November 30, 2026.

The application fee for the General category is INR 3500, while candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD categories are required to pay INR 1500. The AILET PG exam is conducted once a year, making timely application crucial for aspirants.

Eligibility Criteria and Exam Pattern for LLM

To be eligible for the LLM course, candidates must possess an LL.B or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. A relaxation is provided for SC/ST/Persons with Disability categories, who require not less than 45% marks. Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO candidates are exempted from the AILET for direct admission to the LLM program.

The AILET PG entrance exam will consist of 100 objective-type (MCQ) questions, all drawn from different branches of Law. Candidates will be allotted 2 hours (120 minutes) to complete the examination, which will be conducted in offline mode from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A negative marking scheme is in place, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.

Seat Intake and Direct Admission Provisions

NLU Delhi has a total of 70 seats available for its LLM course. Out of these, 10 LLM seats are reserved for direct admission based on merit, with 5 seats allocated for Foreign Nationals and 5 for OCI/PIO candidates. This provision allows certain international and Indian-origin candidates to secure admission without appearing for the AILET PG exam.
