National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) has released preparation tips for the General Knowledge (GK) and Current Affairs section of the AILET 2027 examination. The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2027 is scheduled to be held on December 13, 2026, for admission to integrated B.A. LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD programmes.
The AILET 2027 registration window is currently open, having commenced on August 7, 2026, and will conclude on November 10, 2026. The exam is an offline, pen-and-paper, MCQ-based test, conducted annually by NLU Delhi, one of India’s top-ranked law schools.
AILET 2027 Exam Structure and Marking Scheme
The AILET 2027 paper consists of three sections: English Language, Current Affairs & GK, and Logical Reasoning. The exam comprises a total of 150 multiple-choice questions, to be completed within 120 minutes. Each correct answer will earn 1 mark, while each wrong answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks.
The Logical Reasoning section carries the highest weightage, accounting for nearly 47% of the total paper. The GK and Current Affairs section contributes 20% weightage, with 30 questions. The official notification for AILET 2027 was released on July 23, 2026, confirming the single offline shift from 2 PM to 4 PM.

General Knowledge and CURRENT Affairs Section Details
NLU Delhi specifies that the AILET GK questions are short, direct, and fact-based. Candidates are advised to cover current affairs from the last 12–18 months. Important topics for this section include National/International events, Organizations/people, Polity, Sports, Economics & Govt. Policy, History/Art & Culture, Geography, Environment, Books, and Awards.
Unlike the CLAT syllabus, AILET UG does not include separate Legal Reasoning or Quantitative Techniques sections. The AILET offers admission to approximately 120 BA LLB seats, with 110 reserved for Indian nationals on an all-India basis.
