DU Admission 2026: Apply For SOL, NCWEB & COL Without CUET Scores Till July 24

For thousands of students looking to study at the prestigious University of Delhi (DU), there is an alternative route that does not require the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Delhi University has opened its online admission portal for several of its non-regular channels: the School of Open Learning (SOL), the Non-Collegiate Womenโ€™s Education Board (NCWEB), and the Campus of Open Learning (COL).

The last date to submit online applications for these popular programmes is July 24, 2026.

This pathway is an opportunity for students who either did not appear for the CUET UG exam or did not score well enough to secure a seat in DU’s regular, full-time colleges. Instead of relying on entrance test percentiles, admissions through these alternative channels are heavily based on academic merit, specifically the marks obtained by students in their Class 12 board examinations.

Understanding the Three Streams

Delhi University offers three major institutional routes for students who want to earn a DU degree without standard classroom attendance or entrance exams:

  • School of Open Learning (SOL): This is DUโ€™s distance education wing. It is open to both male and female candidates from across India. Admissions to undergraduate (UG) programmes are completely based on Class 12 merit and prescribed eligibility criteria.

  • Non-Collegiate Womenโ€™s Education Board (NCWEB): This platform is dedicated exclusively to women candidates who are residents of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. It allows women to attend weekend lectures while pursuing their degree. Merit is calculated using the “Best of Four” subject scores from Class 12.

  • Campus of Open Learning (COL): This center focuses on providing professional, vocational, diploma, and short-term skill-based certificates. It aims to make students job-ready by focusing on practical learning alongside regular academic curriculums.

Important Dates to Keep in Mind

The admission timeline for the 2026 academic calendar is running on a strict schedule. Students are advised to complete their applications early to avoid last-minute portal slowdowns.

Event Scheduled Date
Online Registration Window July 8, 2026 โ€“ July 24, 2026

Basic Eligibility and Requirements

While CUET scores are not needed, candidates must still meet the basic academic eligibility rules set by the university:

  1. Academic Qualification: For undergraduate streams, the candidate must have passed their Class 12 examination from a recognized school board. For core courses like BA and BCom under NCWEB, an aggregate score of at least 40% in Class 12 is mandatory.

  2. Residency Rule for NCWEB: Only women candidates living in Delhi can apply for NCWEB. A valid local residential proof (such as an Aadhaar Card or Voter ID card with a Delhi address) must be uploaded during the registration process.

  3. Degree Value: It is important to note that the final degree given to SOL and NCWEB graduates is issued by Delhi University itself. The degree holds equal value to a standard degree for government jobs and higher studies.

How to Apply Step-by-Step

The entire admission process is completely online and contactless.

  • Step 1: Go to the official admission portals (e.g., sol.du.ac.in for SOL or ncwebadmission.uod.ac.in for NCWEB).

  • Step 2: Click on “New Registration” and create a personal account using an active email ID and a mobile number.

  • Step 3: Log in to your account and fill out your personal profile, contact information, and exact Class 12 board marks.

  • Step 4: Upload scanned copies of required documents, including your Class 10 certificate (as age proof), Class 12 marksheet, passport-size photo, signature, and residence proof if applicable.

  • Step 5: Pay the online registration fee (which is โ‚น250 for NCWEB general candidates) using a digital payment gateway.

  • Step 6: Preview your application carefully, submit the form, and download the confirmation page for your records.

University officials have warned students not to delay their fee payments until the closing hours of July 24, 2026, as server load can cause transactions to fail. All updates regarding subsequent merit lists will be published on the university’s official portals.
