Delhi University’s Department of Continuing Education and Extension, in collaboration with the Centre for Distance and Online Education, organised a significant placement drive on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the department’s seminar room. The ‘Placement Drive 2026’ successfully brought together more than 75 organisations and over 500 participants, providing a crucial platform for direct interaction between students and prospective employers.

This initiative aimed to strengthen industry-academia linkages and significantly improve students’ employability across various sectors. The university plans to regularly organise similar employment-oriented initiatives, underscoring its commitment to enhancing career opportunities for its students.

DU Placement Drive 2026: Event Details and Participation

The ‘Placement Drive 2026’ was held from 11 am to 4 pm on August 8, 2026, at the Department of Continuing Education and Extension’s seminar room. The event saw the participation of over 500 students who were eligible from specific academic programmes. These included students pursuing MA Tourism Management, MA Lifelong Learning and Extension, those enrolled in various social science departments, and students from the Centre for Distance and Online Education.

More than 75 organisations from diverse sectors participated, offering many opportunities. Key sectors represented included education, social development, health, research, human rights, tourism, and hospitality. This broad participation ensured that students from different academic backgrounds could explore relevant career paths and engage with potential employers.
