With a voucher, the GRE General Test registration fee is reduced to $100. For GRE Subject Tests, individuals using a voucher pay 50% of the regular test fee, amounting to $99.50.
Eligibility for these vouchers is primarily for U.S. citizens or resident aliens who are either college seniors or unenrolled college graduates with a FAFSA Submission Summary Student Aid Index (SAI) of zero or less. Unemployed U.S. citizens or resident aliens, aged 18 or older, who have been unemployed within the past six months and can provide an Unemployment Benefits Statement from the past 90 days, are also eligible. Active Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) can qualify by submitting a signed Description of Service (DOS) on official Peace Corps letterhead.
Other Related Fee Structures
Beyond the GRE, other educational and intellectual property related fees have been noted. For instance, handling fees for international educational certificates assessed by uni-assist universities are EUR 75.00 for the first chosen course of study and EUR 30.00 for each additional course. The Madrid System, for international trademark applications, has a basic fee of 653 where no representation of the mark is in color, and 903 where any representation is in color, covering 10 years. Supplementary fees apply for additional classes of goods and services or designated Contracting Parties.
In the realm of green building, LEED registration fees are flat fees paid upfront, while certification fees are calculated based on the project’s rating system and size upon documentation submission. Supplemental review (appeal) fees for LEED were consolidated into a single flat fee of $700 per credit on March 27, 2026, replacing previously separate fees for ‘simple’ versus ‘complex’ credits.
