The All India Management Association (AIMA) is set to conduct the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode of the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2026 September session tomorrow, September 20, 2026. This follows the Paper Based Test (PBT) mode, which was held on September 13, 2026, as part of the national-level MBA entrance examination.

Approximately 20,000 applicants appeared for the MAT 2026 exam across both PBT and CBT modes. The MAT examination is conducted four times a year in February, May, September, and December, with scores accepted by more than 600 B-Schools across the country for admission to MBA and allied programs.

MAT 2026 September CBT Exam Schedule and Admit Card

For the upcoming MAT 2026 September CBT exam, candidates are required to report at 8:30 AM. The exam gates will close at 9:30 AM, with the test commencing at 10:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 Noon. The duration of the MAT exam is two hours (120 minutes).

Admit cards for the CBT mode were released on September 17, 2026. The last date for MAT CBT 2026 registration was September 14, 2026. For the PBT mode, which took place on September 13, 2026, the admit cards were released on September 10, 2026, and the registration deadline was September 7, 2026. Results for both modes are tentatively expected within 2-3 weeks after each exam, in September 2026.

Exam Structure, Scoring, and Eligibility Criteria

The MAT exam consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each correct response is awarded one mark, while there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect attempt. The final MAT composite scores, which range from 199 to 801, are based on performance in the first four sections: Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Data Analysis & Sufficiency. The scores from the fifth section, Indian & Global Environment, are not included in the composite score calculation.

To be eligible for MAT, applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There is no specified minimum or maximum age limit for applying. Students in their final year of graduation or those awaiting their results are also eligible to apply for MAT 2026. MAT scores are valid for one year from the date of result declaration.

Application Fees and Post-Result Process

The application fee for the MAT exam is INR 2300 for a single mode (either CBT or PBT). Candidates opting for both PBT and CBT modes are required to pay a fee of INR 4000. These fees were applicable during the registration period for the September 2026 session.

Following the declaration of results, candidates can access their MAT scorecard by entering their six-digit Registration Form Number and nine-digit Roll No. It is advised to download and print the scorecard for future reference. Then, candidates are shortlisted by the institutes they registered with, based on their MAT scores or percentile. Shortlisted candidates typically undergo Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) rounds, or a Written Ability Test (WAT) as part of the admission process. Candidates are encouraged to check the websites or admission prospectuses of individual institutes for their complete admission procedures and to register for B-schools that still have open applications after receiving their results.
