Candidates preparing for MBA and PGDM programs will appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2026 Computer Based Test (CBT) tomorrow, September 20, 2026. The national-level entrance exam, conducted by the All Indian Management Association (AIMA), will be held at various test centres across India.

The MAT exam is conducted four times a year, in February, May, September, and December, offering multiple opportunities for aspirants. The September 2026 cycle also included a Paper Based Test (PBT) mode, which was conducted on September 13, 2026.

MAT 2026 CBT Exam Schedule and Essential Documents

The MAT 2026 CBT exam is a two-hour test scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 Noon on September 20, 2026. Candidates are required to report to their designated test centres by 8:30 AM. The gates to the examination hall will close promptly at 9:30 AM, after which no entry will be permitted.

For entry into the test centre, candidates must carry a printed MAT exam admit card. AIMA advises carrying at least two copies of the admit card. In addition, a valid government-issued photo identification proof, such as an Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, or PAN Card, is mandatory. Candidates may also find a transparent water bottle useful during the exam.

Test Centre Guidelines and Prohibited Items

Strict guidelines have been issued regarding items permitted inside the examination hall. Electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, and calculators, are strictly prohibited. Bags and study materials are also not allowed inside the exam hall. Candidates are advised to avoid wearing metal jewellery or belts to prevent any potential issues during security checks.

The MAT exam structure comprises five compulsory sections: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian and Global Environment. AIMA has specified separate test cities for the September 2026 PBT and CBT exams, with the final test centre and venue details mentioned on each candidate’s admit card.

Registration and Fees for MAT 2026

Registration for the MAT 2026 September exam cycle is now closed. The last date for PBT exam registration was September 7, 2026, while the deadline for CBT exam registration was September 14, 2026. The registration fee for one MAT exam was Rs 2300, and for two exams, it was Rs 4000.

Candidates had the option to select up to five MBA/PGDM institutes when applying for one MAT exam, and up to seven institutes if they opted for two MAT exams. AIMA, the conducting authority, states that all content and information on its platform are provided “as is” and does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information. Candidates are responsible for ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of their personal data provided during registration.
