MAT Sep 2026: Download scorecards by early Oct

The All India Management Association (AIMA) is expected to release the scorecards for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) September 2026 session by the last week of September 2026 or the first week of October 2026. This release will support Business Schools (B-Schools) in screening candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes across India.

Candidates who appeared for the MAT September 2026 exams will be able to download their results from the official AIMA MAT website, mat.aima.in, by logging in with their registration number and email ID. AIMA typically releases scorecards within 15 days of the last exam session and will inform test takers via email and SMS regarding their availability.

MAT September 2026 Examination Overview

The MAT September 2026 examinations were conducted in two modes: Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT). The PBT was held on September 13, 2026, with online registration closing on September 7, 2026, and admit cards available from September 10, 2026. The CBT took place on September 20, 2026, following a registration deadline of September 14, 2026, and admit card release on September 17, 2026.

The MAT exam, administered by AIMA since 1988, is a national-level test declared by the Government of India in 2003. It has a duration of 120 minutes, comprising 150 questions across five sections. There is a negative marking of -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. The scores from the fifth section, Indian & Global Environment, are not considered for the MAT composite score.

Scorecard Details and Admission Process

The MAT scorecard will contain essential candidate information, including name, photo, signature, gender, category, exam session, mode, date, year, sectional percentiles, and overall percentile. The final MAT scores are based on performance in the first four sections: Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Data Analysis & Sufficiency. The MAT percentile is calculated relative to other candidates’ performance.

Graduates in any discipline and final-year students of Graduate Courses are eligible to apply for MAT, with no age limit or mandatory work experience. MAT scores are valid for one year from the date of result declaration. After results are declared, candidates are shortlisted by participating institutes based on their MAT scores or percentile, potentially followed by Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) rounds, or written ability tests.

Registration Fees and Benefits for Candidates

The registration fee for appearing in either the Paper-Based Test (PBT) or the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is Rs 2300. Candidates opting to appear for both PBT and CBT have a combined fee of Rs 4000. This option provides an advantage, as candidates can use the better of the two scores for admission purposes.

In addition, candidates who register for both PBT and CBT are allowed to select an additional two Management Institutes for sending their scores, beyond the initial option of five, bringing the total to seven institutes. This enhances their chances of admission to over 600-800 MBA colleges across India that accept MAT scores.
