MCC NEET SS 2025 special stray vacancy round schedule released: register by September 28

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 Special Stray Vacancy Round counselling schedule on September 23, 2026. The detailed schedule is available on the official MCC portal, mcc.nic.in. This round represents the final phase of NEET SS 2025 all-India counselling for vacant Doctor of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) super speciality seats.

This Special Stray Vacancy Round follows an earlier stray vacancy round conducted by the MCC. The Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is responsible for conducting online counselling for 100% of seats in Super-specialty courses (DM/MCh), as mandated by various notifications from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and court orders. The NEET SS 2025 Cutoff was previously reduced to the 30th Percentile.

Registration and Key Dates for Special Stray Vacancy Round

Eligible candidates who qualified NEET SS 2025 and have valid MCC registration from the ongoing counselling cycle can participate in this round. The registration and payment facility will commence on September 25, 2026, and conclude on September 28, 2026, by 03:00 PM. Choice filling will be open from September 25, 2026, to September 29, 2026, until 12:00 Noon, with choice locking available from 08:00 PM on September 28, 2026, until 12:00 Noon on September 29, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted by the committee, per the MCC notice.

The processing of seat allotment is scheduled for September 29, 2026, with the NEET SS 2025 Special Stray Vacancy Round result to be published on the MCC portal on September 30, 2026. Selected candidates are required to report to their allotted institutes between October 1, 2026, and October 6, 2026. Failure to report within this timeline will result in the forfeiture of the allotted seat.

Application Fees and Document Requirements

The online counselling process for NEET SS is conducted through the MCC portal. A non-refundable registration fee of ₹5,000 is required, along with a refundable security deposit of ₹2,00,000. The security deposit is refunded only if the candidate does not join the allotted seat or surrenders the seat within the stipulated time. Candidates already holding a seat should refer to the official notice for specific participation rules. Applicants must verify their eligibility status on the MCC portal before submitting fresh choices.

Allotted candidates must carry a complete set of documents when reporting to their assigned institute. Missing documents may lead to the cancellation of admission. The NEET SS, or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality, is an entrance examination for DNB and MCh/DM super speciality courses in India, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The MCC manages the counselling process for these courses.

NEET Ss 2025 Cutoff Scores

The NEET SS 2025 cutoff was reduced to the 30th percentile, as previously announced. The qualifying cutoff scores for various question paper groups out of a total of 600 marks have been specified. These cutoffs determine the minimum scores required for eligibility in different super speciality disciplines.
