The nationwide examination, a critical step for aspiring medical postgraduates, was conducted with extensive logistical and surveillance measures to ensure fairness and integrity for the vast majority of candidates.

NEET PG 2026: Examination Overview and Disruption Details

The NEET PG 2026 examination was initially scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates across 1,111 examination centres in 339 cities, encompassing all 36 States and Union Territories. While 2,65,980 candidates appeared, the examination was successfully completed for approximately 2,63,535 candidates nationwide. The disruption in Jaipur affected 2,445 candidates at iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura (TC Nos. 41682 and 41683), where internal power supply issues, attributed to TCS Ltd., prevented the completion of their examination.

The NBEMS and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare swiftly announced a re-examination to ensure a fair and equitable opportunity for these affected candidates. This measure underscores the commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process, even in the face of unforeseen technical challenges.

NEET PG 2026: Re-Examination for Jaipur Candidates

All 2,445 candidates whose examination was disrupted at the two Jaipur centres will have a re-examination on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The re-examination is scheduled to commence at 3:00 PM in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This dedicated re-examination aims to mitigate any disadvantage faced by these candidates due to the power supply issues on the original examination date.

Candidates affected by the disruption are advised to check the official NBEMS website for specific details regarding their re-examination admit cards and venue information. The NBEMS is working to ensure a smooth and fair process for all candidates taking the re-examination.

NEET PG 2026: Robust Security and Surveillance Measures

The NBEMS implemented extensive security and surveillance measures for the NEET PG 2026 examination to ensure its integrity. A total of 2,527 faculty members were appointed as Independent Appraisers, alongside more than 700 senior faculty members deployed as Flying Squad members across the country. Also, 16 NBEMS Regional Command Centres were operational to oversee the examination process.

All examination centres were under live CCTV surveillance, with real-time monitoring conducted from the NBEMS Command Centre located in Dwarka, Delhi. A dedicated team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS was deployed for this continuous real-time surveillance. Also, Aadhaar-based authentication of candidates was successfully undertaken, adding another layer of security to the examination process.
