Vacancies and Eligibility Criteria
A total of 3,548 graduate-level vacancies have been announced under CEN 06/2026. Application Fees and Selection Process
The application fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs. 500, with Rs. 400 refundable upon appearing in CBT 1. For SC, ST, PWD, Women, Ex-Servicemen, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward candidates, the fee is Rs. 250, which is fully refunded upon appearing in CBT 1. The refund is subject to deduction of bank charges.
The selection process for both graduate and undergraduate-level posts includes Computer Based Test 1 (CBT 1), Computer Based Test 2 (CBT 2), Document Verification, and a Medical Test. Notably, the Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) and Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) have been removed for graduate-level posts under CEN 06/2026. The RRB NTPC exam is a national-level online examination.

Changes in 2026 Recruitment and Exam Pattern
The RRB NTPC 2026 recruitment cycle introduces several changes compared to previous years. The total number of vacancies has decreased from 11,558 in 2024 and 8,868 in 2025 to 5,236 in 2026. For graduate-level posts (CEN 06/2026), the number of covered posts has been reduced from six to four, with Station Master and Traffic Assistant posts no longer included in this recruitment. Recruitment for the RRB Station Master post will be conducted separately from 2026 onwards.
The selection process for relevant graduate posts has been simplified by removing the Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) and Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Additionally, the Pay Levels for graduate posts are now limited to Level 5 and 6, with Level 4 removed. The Computer Based Test 1 (CBT 1) and Computer Based Test 2 (CBT 2) exam dates for both graduate and undergraduate levels are yet to be announced by the Railway Recruitment Board.
