HPRCA teacher recruitment 2026 notification out for 2,423 posts; apply by 5 December

The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur, has issued a notification for the recruitment of 2,423 teacher posts in CBSE-affiliated government schools across Himachal Pradesh. Advertisement No. 14/2026 was released on 2 November 2026, with online applications scheduled to commence on 10 November 2026.

This recruitment drive aims to engage qualified educators for 15 subjects, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020 to enhance academic standards. The engagement is scheme-based and temporary for a period of five years, without conferring the status of permanent government employees or rights to regularization. Successful candidates will receive a fixed honorarium of ₹30,000 per month for 10 months in an academic year.

Application Process and Key Dates

Online applications for the teacher posts will go live on 10 November 2026 at 10:00 AM. The deadline for submitting applications is 5 December 2026 at 11:59 PM. A correction window will be available for four days after the closing date for applications.

Candidates are required to complete a One Time Registration (OTR) on the HPRCA portal before applying. The application mode is strictly online, and offline forms will not be accepted. The application fee for all categories is ₹800, comprising a ₹100 exam fee and a ₹700 processing fee. A correction fee of ₹100 will be charged for any changes made after submission.

Eligibility Criteria and Vacancies

Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age as on 1 January 2026. Eligibility for qualification will be counted as on 5 December 2026. For most posts, candidates need a Master’s degree in the concerned subject, a B.Ed. degree, and a passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

Matriculation and 10+2 must have been passed from an institution in Himachal Pradesh, unless the candidate is a Bonafide Himachali. Reservation benefits are exclusively for bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh; reserved-category candidates from other states will be treated as General (UR). Mathematics has the highest number of vacancies under Advertisement No. 14/2026, with 281 posts. The number of posts is tentative and may change.

Selection Process and Previous Recruitments

The selection process may involve a Computer Based Test (CBT) or a Written Screening Test, followed by document verification and merit-based counselling. Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English is required for most posts. The exam date for the CBT or Written Test has not yet been announced by the HPRCA.

This latest notification (Advt. No. 14/2026) follows two earlier recruitment drives by HPRCA in 2026. Advertisement No. 07/2026, issued on 7 April 2026, was for 390 vacancies in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Commerce. Next, Advertisement No. 08/2026, released on 9 April 2026, announced 808 vacancies for subjects including Music, Drawing, Sanskrit, Physical Education, History, Hindi, and Geography. The total number of vacancies across all three notifications in 2026 now stands at 3,621.
