RRB Technician CBT 2026 exam city slip released; tests from October 6

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the exam city and date intimation slip for the RRB Technician Computer Based Test (CBT) 2026, under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) 02/2026. The intimation slips became available from September 27, 2026, onwards, allowing candidates to view their allotted examination city and scheduled exam date.

This advance notification is intended to assist candidates in making necessary travel arrangements ahead of the examinations. The RRB Technician CBT 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on October 6, 7, 8, and 9, 2026, for a total of 6,557 Technician (Grade I Signal & Grade III) posts.

RRB Technician CBT 2026 Exam Schedule and Intimation Slip Release

The Computer Based Test for Technician Grade I Signal and Grade III posts will span four days in October 2026. The release of the city intimation slips is staggered, corresponding to the respective exam dates, to provide candidates with timely information.

Candidates can access their city intimation slip through the official websites of their respective RRBs and on rrb.digialm.com. The city intimation slip contains crucial details such as the applicant’s name, registration information, assigned city, state, exam shift, and timing. Eligible SC/ST candidates can also download their Travel Authority along with the city intimation slip.

The city intimation slip is not the e-call letter. The e-call letters, which serve as the official admit cards, will be made available approximately four days before each candidate’s respective examination date.

Mandatory Aadhaar Biometric Authentication

Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication will be a mandatory step at all examination centres. Candidates are required to carry their original Aadhaar card or a printout of their e-verified Aadhaar to the examination centre for verification. The Railway Recruitment Board has advised candidates to ensure their Aadhaar remains unlocked in the UIDAI system leading up to arriving at the exam centre.

Candidates who have not yet completed their Aadhaar verification can do so by logging in with their credentials on the official RRB website. It is also recommended that candidates verify the accuracy of their Name as mentioned in their Class 10 certificate, Date of birth, Latest photograph, Biometrics (if not updated after turning 15), Address, and Father’s name on their Aadhaar card.

Recruitment Details and Important Dates

This recruitment drive aims to fill 6,557 Technician posts, comprising 323 vacancies for Grade I Signal and 6,234 for Grade III. The application period for CEN 02/2026 was from June 30 to July 29, 2026, with the application status check commencing on September 11, 2026. Approximately 841,542 candidates applied for these Technician Grade 1 and 3 posts.

The RRB Technician Grade I Signal post falls under Pay Level 5 with a basic pay of Rs. 29,200, while the RRB Technician Grade III post is under Pay Level 2 with a basic pay of Rs. 19,900.
