RRB JE city intimation slip 2026 out for CBT 1 exam on October 27

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) today, October 17, 2026, released the RRB JE City Intimation Slip 2026 for the Computer Based Test (CBT 1) exam. This slip is now available online on the official regional RRB websites, including www.rrbcdg.gov.in and rrb.digialm.com, for candidates who successfully submitted their application forms.

The release of the city intimation slip aims to provide candidates with advance information regarding their exam city, date, and shift timing, supporting their travel and accommodation arrangements. The RRB JE CBT 1 exam is scheduled to be conducted on October 27 and 28, 2026, across India, for 4029 vacancies under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) 04/2026.

Accessing the City Intimation Slip and Upcoming Admit Card

Candidates can access their RRB JE City Intimation Slip 2026 by providing their Registration Number and Date of Birth on the designated portals. This slip contains essential details such as the exam centre city name, shift timing, and the candidate’s name. this slip serves purely for prior information and is not valid for entry into the examination centre.

The official RRB JE Admit Card 2026, which is mandatory for entry, will be issued on October 23, 2026. This admit card will be available four to five days before the respective exam date. Candidates must carry a hard copy of their admit card, along with a valid original photo ID proof and a passport-size photograph, to the exam hall.

RRB Je CBT 1 Exam Schedule and Biometric Authentication

The RRB JE CBT 1 exam will be conducted in three shifts: Morning, Afternoon, and Evening. The reporting time for the morning shift is 7:30 AM, with the exam running from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. For the afternoon shift, reporting is at 11:15 AM, and the exam is from 12:45 PM to 2:15 PM. The evening shift requires reporting by 3:00 PM, with the exam from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication is mandatory at all exam centers. Candidates are required to carry an original Aadhaar Card or a printout of an e-verified Aadhaar for verification purposes. The exam for October 28, 2026, will have its city intimation slip released on October 18, 2026.

Recruitment Process and Eligibility Criteria

The RRB JE recruitment process for 4029 vacancies under CEN 04/2026 involves multiple stages: CBT 1, CBT 2, Document Verification, and a Medical Examination. The online application process commenced on August 14, 2026, with the last date to apply and pay fees being September 13, 2026. A correction window for applications was available from September 16 to 25, 2026.

Candidates for the Junior Engineer post must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of January 1, 2027, and possess a Degree or Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institution. The initial pay for Junior Engineers is ₹35,400/- per month (Level-6), along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Travel Allowance (TA).

Exam Pattern and Negative Marking

Both CBT 1 and CBT 2 include negative marking, with a deduction of 1/3rd mark for every incorrect answer. CBT 1 consists of 100 questions for 100 marks, to be completed in 90 minutes, covering Mathematics, General Awareness & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.

CBT 2 will have 150 questions for 150 marks over 120 minutes, encompassing General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, and Technical Abilities. The application fee was ₹500/- for Gen/OBC/EWS candidates (with a ₹400/- refund on appearing for CBT) and ₹250/- for SC/ST/EBC/Female/Transgender candidates (with a full refund on appearing for CBT).
