RRB Technician city intimation slip out for 6,557 vacancies; CBT from 6 October

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) today, 27 September 2026, issued the City Intimation Slip for the RRB Technician Grade I Signal and Grade III Exam. Candidates who applied for the Railway Technician 2026 posts under Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) 02/2026 can now download their slips from RRB regional websites or rrbapply.gov.in.

This slip allows candidates to check their allotted examination city and date for the upcoming Computer Based Test (CBT), which is scheduled to take place from 6 October to 9 October 2026. The examination aims to fill a total of 6,557 vacancies across Technician Grade I Signal and Grade III posts.

Accessing the City Intimation Slip and Exam Schedule

The City Intimation Slip provides advance information about the examination logistics. It displays the Candidate’s Name, Registration Number, Exam Date, Shift Timing, Exam City, State of Examination, and Important Instructions. Candidates are required to log in with their registration details, including their Registration Number and Date of Birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, to access their slips.

The RRBs have specified that the City Intimation Slip is released approximately 10 days before the respective exam date. The e-Call Letter, which serves as the official admit card, will be released about four days before the candidate’s examination date. For instance, candidates scheduled to appear on 6 October should check for their e-Call Letter from around 2 October 2026.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates are advised to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on a desktop/laptop for accessing the official portal. If login issues arise, clearing browser cache/cookies or using Incognito/Private mode may resolve them. Due to heavy load, the portal may experience slow response times, and trying to log in during early morning or late night hours is recommended. Pop-up blockers should be disabled as the slip may open in a new tab or window.

The city intimation slip is for advance information only and does not serve as permission to appear for the exam. Entry to the examination hall will be strictly based on the admit card (e-Call Letter) issued by the RRB. Candidates facing issues can contact the RRB Helpdesk at 9513166169 between 09:00 AM and 06:00 PM.

Next Steps for Applicants

Following the release of the City Intimation Slip and subsequent e-Call Letter, the selection process for Technician Grade I Signal and Grade III posts will proceed with the Computer Based Test (CBT). Successful candidates from the CBT will then move on to Document Verification, followed by a Medical Examination.

Candidates are advised to download their city intimation slip, check their allotted exam city and examination date, and plan travel and accommodation accordingly. The exam city once allotted cannot be changed. They must download the e-Call Letter approximately four days before their exam date and carry a printed admit card along with a valid photo ID on the examination day, reaching the centre well before the reporting time.
