Private and deemed universities typically charge between ₹1–3 lakh per year, while state universities are often more affordable, with annual fees generally under ₹1 lakh. Government and state law colleges have fees ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹1,00,000 annually, whereas private institutions like Symbiosis and Jindal Global Law School can have annual fees between ₹3 lakh to ₹6 lakh.

The legal profession in India offers many career options with varying salary expectations. Starting salaries for litigation roles in the early years are typically ₹3–6 lakh per annum. Corporate law associates at Tier 2/3 firms can expect ₹6–10 lakh per annum, while those at top-tier firms may command ₹12–20 lakh per annum. In-house legal counsel roles typically offer ₹6–12 lakh per annum, and judiciary positions, after qualifying exams, provide ₹7–9 lakh per annum along with government benefits.
