TG LAWCET 2026: Report to colleges by September 29 for final phase counselling

The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), through the Convener, TG LAWCET/TG PGLCET-2026, Osmania University, Hyderabad, has concluded the final phase of counselling for TS LAWCET 2026. Today, September 29, 2026, marks the deadline for candidates to report to their allotted colleges for admission to 3-year and 5-year LL.B courses and 2-year LL.M. courses for the academic year 2026-2027.

This final phase of counselling follows two previous rounds held in July and August 2026. The entire counselling process aims to fill approximately 5,678 convener-quota seats across more than 30 law colleges in Telangana, with around 3,866 seats designated for 3-Year LL.B and approximately 1,812 for 5-Year Integrated LL.B courses.

TS LAWCET 2026 Final Phase Counselling Schedule and Fees

The final phase counselling schedule commenced with online registration, fee payment, and certificate uploads from September 15 to 17, 2026. The list of verified eligible candidates and correction options were made available on September 18, 2026. Candidates then exercised their web options from September 19 to 21, with an editing window on September 21-22. The provisional seat allotment results were released on September 25, 2026, leading to the current reporting deadline.

A non-refundable processing fee was charged for participation in the counselling. OC, BC, and OBC candidates paid ₹800, while SC and ST candidates paid ₹500. The TGCHE advised candidates not to surrender an existing seat based on the assumption of securing a better one in this final phase, stating that once released, a held seat is permanently gone.

Eligibility Criteria and Seat Distribution

Eligibility for the 3-Year LL.B course requires candidates to have passed a graduate degree under the 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum aggregate of 45% for OC/BC, 42% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST. For the 5-Year Integrated LL.B, candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination with the same aggregate percentages for respective categories.

TS LAWCET 2026 qualified candidates needed a minimum 35% score (42 out of 120) for OC/BC categories. SC/ST candidates qualified by simply appearing in the examination, with no minimum qualifying score requirement. The approximate convener-quota seats are distributed with OC at around 44%, BC at 29%, SC at 15%, and ST at 6%. A 3% horizontal reservation is also applied for PH (Divyangjan) candidates across all vertical categories.

TS LAWCET Cut-Off Ranks for Key Institutions

The TS LAWCET cutoff marks are category and gender-specific, determined by factors such as exam difficulty, number of qualified candidates, category-wise reservations, and available seats. For Osmania University, a rank below 1500 is generally considered competitive for the 3-year LLB course, while a rank below 800 is considered good for the 5-year LLB course.

Cut-off ranks for various colleges in Telangana for BA LLB and BBA LLB integrated courses show variations across categories. For instance, at University College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad, the closing rank for the Open category in BA LLB was 35, while for ST it extended to 828. Similarly, Pendekanti Law College, Hyderabad, saw Open category closing ranks at 185 and SC at 1596 for BA LLB. These figures highlight the competitive nature of admissions across different institutions and categories.
