TS DOST special spot round counselling 2026 begins: apply by September 29

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) initiated the Special Spot Round Counselling 2026 for Degree Online Services (DOST) admissions today, September 28, 2026. This round serves as the final opportunity for aspirants to secure undergraduate seats in Government, University, Private Aided, Unaided, and Autonomous colleges across Telangana for the 2026-27 academic session.

Candidates interested in participating must register through the official portal, dost.cgg.gov.in, by September 29, 2026. This one-time special spot round is designed to fill all remaining vacant seats, with local candidates receiving priority before non-local candidates are considered for any leftover vacancies.

Registration and Application Process

The registration window for the Special Spot Round is open for two days, September 28 and September 29, 2026. Aspirants who missed earlier DOST admission phases are eligible to participate, provided they meet the specific eligibility requirements for their chosen programme. The admission process is direct college-level spot admission, and candidates are advised to check the vacancy position at their preferred colleges before applying.

A non-refundable processing fee of Rs 425 is mandatory for all applicants. Following the admission process, institutions are required to upload the details of all admitted students to the DOST Online Portal by September 30, 2026.

Required Documents and Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission through the Special Spot Round must present a set of essential documents during the college-level spot admission. These include the DOST Common Application Form receipt, Class 10 marksheet and certificate, Class 12 or Intermediate marksheet, and Transfer Certificate. Also, an Income certificate (if applicable), Caste or category certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar card, and recent passport-size photographs are required.

Candidates who secure admission in this final round will not be eligible for scholarships or state fee reimbursement benefits for the 2026-27 academic session. Classes for the current academic year commenced on July 6, 2026.

Previous DOST Admission Phases

The Special Spot Round is the culmination of several admission phases conducted by TSCHE for the 2026-27 academic year. Prior phases included Phase-I, Phase-II, Phase-III, Intra-College Phase, Special Phase, and Special Drive Phase. The Special Drive Phase registration, for instance, was open from August 6 to August 11, 2026, with a registration fee of Rs 400. Seat allotment results for this phase were announced on August 14, 2026, followed by online self-reporting and college reporting deadlines.
