UCEED 2027 registration extended: apply by 5 November

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has extended the registration deadline for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2027. Aspiring candidates can now register for the entrance test with a regular fee until November 5, 2026, through the official portal, uceed.iitb.ac.in.

This extension provides additional time for applicants who have yet to complete their registration for the UCEED 2027 examination, which serves as the gateway to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes at participating IITs and other institutes. The registration window initially opened on October 1, 2026, with the original deadline for regular fee applications set for October 31, 2026.

Revised Registration Schedule and Late Fee Provision

The new deadline for online registration with a regular fee is November 5, 2026. This adjustment by IIT Bombay aims to ensure that all eligible candidates have ample opportunity to submit their applications for the UCEED 2027 examination.

For those unable to meet the extended regular deadline, a provision for late registration is available. Applicants can submit their forms with an additional late fee of ₹500 until November 6, 2026, 05:00 PM. UCEED 2027 Examination Details and Eligibility

The UCEED 2027 examination is scheduled for Sunday, January 17, 2027, and will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. This computer-based test has a duration of three hours and carries a total of 300 marks. The exam paper is structured into three sections: Numerical Answer Type (Section A), Multiple Select Questions (Section B), and Multiple Choice Questions (Section C).

To be eligible for UCEED 2027, candidates must have completed or be appearing for Class 12. The examination is open to students from the 2026-27 Class 12 batch, irrespective of their academic stream (Science, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities). Applicants are permitted to attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, with age limit criteria as specified in the official information brochure.

Application Procedure and Important Post-Exam Dates

Candidates interested in applying for UCEED 2027 should visit the official portal at uceed.iitb.ac.in. The application process involves clicking on the new registration link, entering personal, academic, and contact details, and uploading scanned documents such as a photograph, signature, and category certificate. The application fee must be paid through the online payment gateway, followed by the submission of the form and saving the confirmation page.

Following the examination, several key dates are tentatively scheduled. The release of the Draft Answer Key and Candidates’ Response for Part-A is expected in January 2027, with the last date for uploading comments also in January 2027. The Final Answer Key for Part-A is tentatively scheduled for release in January 2027, while the announcement of Cut-off Marks for Part-A is expected in February 2027. Results are tentatively scheduled for declaration in March 2027, with score card downloading available from March to June 2027.
