WBCHSE HS 3rd semester Economics answer key 2027 expected in November

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is currently conducting the Higher Secondary (HS) 3rd semester examinations for the 2027 academic year. These examinations commenced on September 21, 2026, and are scheduled anyway on October 14, 2026.

Students who appeared for the Economics paper on September 25, 2026, and other subjects, can anticipate the release of provisional answer keys in November 2026, followed by a window for raising objections.

Examination Schedule and Key Dates

The WBCHSE has outlined a schedule for the ongoing 3rd semester examinations and the subsequent release of answer keys. The provisional answer key is expected in November 2026, with an objection window in December 2026. The final answer key is slated for February 2027.

The examinations cover various subjects, including Agriculture, English, Economics, Physics, Accountancy, Mathematics, and Political Science, among others. The Economics paper was held on September 25, 2026, while Mathematics is scheduled for October 12, 2026, and Political Science for October 14, 2026.

Process for Downloading Answer Keys and Raising Objections

Students will be able to download the answer key PDFs and raise objections through the official WBCHSE website, wbchse.wb.gov.in. To access the answer keys, students must navigate to the ‘Notification’ section on the website, where the link will be titled ‘Answer Key of the Question Paper of All Subjects of Semester III HS Examination – 2027’.

For raising objections, students are required to discuss any identified discrepancies with the head of their respective institutions during the designated objection window in December 2026. A challenge fee of 200 rupees per question per subject is applicable. This fee will be refunded if the objections are accepted by subject experts.

Context of the Semester System and Previous Year’s Performance

The 3rd semester examinations primarily test objective knowledge through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) using OMR sheets, accounting for 50% of the total theory marks with a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. In contrast, the Semester IV exams, typically held in February, cover descriptive theory elements using traditional answer booklets for a duration of 2 hours.

For the WB HS Semester 3 Results 2025, the overall pass percentage was 93.72%. Aditya Narayan Jana and Pritam Pallav topped with 98.97%, and 69 students were included in the top 10 merit list. Out of 6,60,260 examinees, 6,45,832 students passed. Stream-wise pass percentages for 2025 were 98.8% for Science, 94.19% for Commerce, and 92.54% for Arts.
