West Bengal HS semester 3 exam 2027 dates revised: check new schedule

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has released a partially revised schedule for the Higher Secondary (Semester III) Examination 2027. The examinations, which evaluate Class 12 students on conceptual understanding and subject knowledge, are now scheduled to take place from September 21, 2026, to October 14, 2026.

The original examination routine was issued on June 25, 2026, through Notification No. L/PR/242/2026. The revised schedule, issued via Notification No. L/PR/348/2026 on September 10, 2026, specifically alters three examination dates, while all other details remain unchanged.

Reasons for the Examination Schedule Revision

The WBCHSE revised the examination dates due to by-elections in Rejinagar AC (Murshidabad) and Nandigram AC (Purba Medinipur) scheduled for October 6, 2026. Additionally, the observance of Karam Puja also necessitated changes to the original timetable. The Council stated that these factors required the postponement of certain papers to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations.

The examinations originally slated for October 5, 6, and 7, 2026, have been moved to October 12, 13, and 14, 2026, respectively. These revised dates will feature examinations from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The main examination start time for all papers remains 11:00 AM.

Detailed Revised Examination Schedule

The Higher Secondary (Semester III) Examination 2027 will commence on September 21, 2026, with the last examination scheduled for October 14, 2026. Some papers will be 1 hour 30 minutes long (11:00 AM to 12:30 PM), while others will be 1 hour long (11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon).

The examination mode is offline, using pen and paper. Questions will comprise 30% objective Multiple Choice Questions (OMR-based) and 70% subjective/descriptive questions. The WB HS Semester 3 admit card 2027 was released on August 27, 2026, with revised admit cards also issued by the board. The Semester 3 supplementary exams routine was released on December 11, 2025, with these exams scheduled from February 12 to 27, 2026, starting at 1 PM.

Examination Guidelines and Results

Students appearing for the examination must carry their admit cards along with school ID proof to the exam center. They are required to reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time and adhere to all instructions issued by WBCHSE and the examination center authorities. Carrying electronic gadgets, smartwatches, calculators (unless permitted), or any items considered unfair means is prohibited.

The HS 3rd Semester result 2027 is expected to be announced in October/November 2027. Passing marks for theory subjects range from 21 to 24, depending on the maximum marks for the subject (70 or 80). For practical subjects, passing marks are 6 to 9, based on maximum marks of 20 or 30.
