CPRI recruitment 2026 registration begins for 110 posts; apply by October 12

Vacancy Details and Age Limits

A total of 110 vacancies have been announced across various posts. Technical Attendant Grade I has the highest number of openings with 37 posts, followed by Assistant Grade II with 29 vacancies. Multi-Tasking Staff Grade I (Watch & Ward Duties) posts, numbering 14, are specifically reserved for Ex-servicemen.

The minimum age to apply for any post is 18 years. The upper age limit varies by post, ranging from 25 years for Multi-Tasking Staff Grade I to 35 years for Engineering Assistant and Scientific Assistant positions. Engineering Officer Grade I, Technical Attendant Grade I, and Assistant Grade II have an upper age limit of 30 years, while Technician Grade I has an upper age limit of 28 years.

Eligibility and Selection Process

Specific educational qualifications are required for each post. For instance, Engineering Officer Grade I (Electrical) mandates a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering along with a valid GATE Score from 2024, 2025, or 2026. Assistant Grade II requires a First Class BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA degree and a minimum Grade-B Certificate in Basic Computer Course (BCC) conducted by NIELIT. The notification specifies that “Only the BCC conducted by NIELIT will be accepted. No other computer course will be accepted for this post.”

The selection process for Engineering Officer posts is based on the GATE score. For all other positions, candidates will undergo a Computer Based Test (CBT), which may be followed by a skill, trade, or proficiency test where applicable. Selected candidates will receive salaries as per Pay Levels 1 to 7 under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. For example, Engineering Officers will be placed at Level-07 (₹44,900-1,42,400/-), while Multi-Tasking Staff and Technical Attendant Grade-I will be at Level-01 (₹18,000-56,900/-).

Application Fees

The application fees for the CPRI recruitment 2026 vary based on the post and candidate category. General, OBC, and EWS candidates applying for Engineering Officer, Scientific Assistant, and Engineering Assistant positions are required to pay ₹1000. For all other posts, General, OBC, and EWS candidates must pay ₹700.

However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PH, ESM categories, and all female candidates are fully exempted from paying any application fee across all advertised posts. The deadline for completing the fee payment is October 12, 2026, at 05:00 PM, coinciding with the application submission deadline.
