HP AYUSH UG round 1 counselling registration closes today, September 21

The registration window for Round 1 of the Himachal Pradesh AYUSH UG Counselling 2026 for BAMS and BHMS courses is set to close today, September 21, 2026, at 11:55 PM. Aspiring candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and wish to pursue these courses in Himachal Pradesh must complete their online applications via the Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU) portal.

This counselling process, managed by AMRU, Himachal Pradesh, is for admission to the 2026-27 academic session in various government and private Ayurvedic colleges across the state. The official notice regarding the counselling was issued on September 19, 2026, outlining the procedures and deadlines for applicants.

Eligibility and Application Process

To be eligible for the HP AYUSH UG Counselling 2026, candidates must have qualified NEET UG 2026. In addition, applicants must be a minimum of 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year. For State Quota seats, candidates are required to possess Himachal Pradesh residency or domicile. Academic prerequisites include having passed 10+2 or Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects, achieving a minimum of 50% for General Category candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC categories in PCB.

The online application form and the detailed counselling prospectus are accessible through the AMRU website. The online application fee is ₹2,200 for General and Other Categories, and ₹1,100 for SC/ST Categories. Beyond the application fee, a non-refundable registration fee of ₹2,000 applies for State Quota seats, while All India Quota (AIQ) applicants must pay ₹3,000. A refundable security deposit of ₹10,000 is also mandated for all candidates.

Counselling Rounds and Key Dates

The HP AYUSH NEET Counselling 2026 is structured into multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, and a Mop-Up/Stray Vacancy Round. The NEET Exam for 2026 was held on June 21, 2026, with results declared on July 16, 2026. The initial Round 1 online counselling registration was in mid-July 2026, with the provisional merit list displayed in the first week of August 2026. Choice filling and locking for Round 1 occurred in early August 2026, and seat allotment results were released in mid-August 2026. Reporting to allotted colleges for Round 1 took place in mid to late August 2026.

The current phase involves the submission of online applications for Round 1, which concludes today. The display of provisional allocation for the 1st Round was on September 8, 2026, with the final allocation displayed on September 9, 2026. Reporting for admission to allotted courses and colleges after the 1st round was on September 15 and 16, 2026. The display of vacancies for the 2nd round was on September 18, 2026. Submission of fresh online applications for the 2nd round is ongoing from September 18, 2026, to September 22, 2026, until 2:00 PM. The general combined state merit list for the 2nd round is scheduled for September 23, 2026, with choice filling for the 2nd round from September 18, 2026, to September 24, 2026. Provisional allocation for the 2nd Round is expected on September 29, 2026, and final allocation on October 1, 2026. Reporting for admission after the 2nd round is set for October 4 and 6, 2026.

Seat Quota and Participating Institutions

The counselling process allocates seats under two main quotas: 85% State Quota and 15% All India Quota. The All India Quota Counselling is managed by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC). Courses offered through this counselling include BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BNYS, and Sowa Rigpa. The total number of seats includes 75 Government BAMS seats, 120 Private BAMS seats, and 75 Private BHMS seats.

Participating institutions include Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Solan Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Awasthi Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Abhilashi Ayurvedic College Research Institute, and Rajiv Gandhi Govt Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Hospital, among others. The State Quota seats are further categorised, including 25 General/Un-reserved seats, 9 Scheduled Caste seats, 5 Scheduled Tribe seats, 7 Other Backward Classes seats, and provisions for various special categories like Children of Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, and Economically Weaker Section candidates.
