BSEB Class 11 quarterly exam 2026 schedule released: September 19 to 27

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the schedule for the Class 11 Quarterly Examination 2026. These examinations are set to take place across Bihar from September 19, 2026, to September 27, 2026. The assessment is designed to evaluate students’ academic progress and prepare them for their annual examinations.

Students from Science, Commerce, and Arts streams will participate in these offline (written) examinations. The quarterly exam question papers will comprise objective, short answer, and long answer questions, aligning with the recently released Bihar Board Class 11 syllabus for the academic session 2026–27.

Examination Schedule and Shifts

The Class 11 Quarterly Examination 2026 will be conducted in two shifts daily. The first shift is scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, while the second shift will run from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Students will be provided a 15-minute ‘Cool Off Time’ before the commencement of each exam to read the question paper.

The schedule covers a range of subjects across all three streams. For instance, on September 19, 2026, the first shift includes Physics for I.Sc, Entrepreneurship for I.Com, and Philosophy for I.A. The second shift on the same day will feature Chemistry for I.Sc, Accountancy for I.Com, and Political Science for I.A. Core subjects like English and Hindi for all streams are scheduled for September 23, 2026.

Purpose and Preparation for Annual Exams

The Class 11 Quarterly Examination is not a board exam, but it serves as an initial assessment of students’ understanding and writing ability. According to the BSEB, this examination helps students identify areas requiring more effort and develop effective strategies for future studies. It is part of a broader assessment framework that includes half-yearly exams for Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12, also conducted in September 2026.

Students are advised to review the timetable carefully and begin their revisions based on the dates of their respective subjects. Preparation should align with the latest syllabus, using NCERT and BSEB-prescribed textbooks. Solving previous year’s question papers and attempting mock tests are also recommended to enhance readiness for the upcoming assessments.

Upcoming Annual Examination Schedule

Looking ahead, the Bihar School Examination Board has also provided preliminary dates for the annual examinations for Class 9 and Class 11. The BSEB Class 11 annual exams are scheduled to be conducted from March 16 to March 24, 2027. Similarly, the BSEB Class 9 annual exams will take place from March 18 to March 23, 2027.

The detailed time table for both the Class 9 and Class 11 annual exams for 2027 is expected to be announced by the board in December 2026. This advance notice aims to provide students and institutions ample time for complete preparation for these crucial end-of-year assessments.
