CBSE 10, 12: Submit LOC by Oct 21, 2026; begins Sep 24

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to open the online submission portal for the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations 2027 tomorrow, September 24, 2026. Schools affiliated with the board are required to submit the LOC for eligible students through the official CBSE portal, cbse.gov.in.

This submission is crucial as only students registered through this online process will be permitted to appear for the upcoming CBSE 10th and 12th board examinations in 2027. The first Class 10 Board Exam, scheduled for February-March, will be mandatory for all students, and schools are advised to submit LOCs for all Class 10 students appearing for this initial examination.

LOC Submission Schedule and Deadlines

The regular submission period for the List of Candidates without a late fee concludes on October 21, 2026. A circular detailing the LOC submission procedure was previously issued to affiliated schools on September 17, 2026. Schools must use their Affiliation number as their user ID for the login process on the portal.

For submissions made via Challan, the deadline without a late fee is October 17, 2026. A late submission period will follow from October 22 to October 30, 2026, for other fee payment modes, and from October 22 to October 26, 2026, for Challan payments. A correction window for submitted LOC details will be available from November 2 to November 4, 2026.

Required Details and Eligibility Criteria

Schools are instructed to submit complete student details, including full name, date of birth (DOB), gender, category, names of parents/guardians, subjects chosen, the student’s photograph, and the student’s signature. The CBSE has advised schools to ensure the accuracy of all information before final submission, as incorrect details can lead to issues later. School principals are also instructed to frequently monitor the LOC submission procedure and review daily reports.

For Class 12 students, eligibility requires having passed Class 10 from a recognised school education board on or before the 2025 academic year. After LOC submission, requests for changes in subjects, admission to Classes 10 and 12 (except transfer cases), and certain CWSN concessions will not be considered. The LOC submission for the second Class 10 exam will open separately at a later date, closer to the second examination in 2027.

Registration Fees and Late Penalties

Indian Class 10 and 12 students are required to pay a registration fee of Rs 1600 for five subjects. An additional fee of Rs 320 will be applied for every extra subject. Students with visual impairment are exempt from paying the examination fee for both Classes 10 and 12.

During the late submission period, a late fee of Rs 2,000 per candidate will be levied, plus the prescribed examination fee. The CBSE has also clarified in its communications that schools should not collect unauthorised fees in connection with LOC submission.
