CPGET Phase 2 counselling 2026 registration starts: apply by 26 September

Kakatiya University, acting on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), initiated the registration and online certificate verification process for CPGET Phase 2 Counselling 2026 on September 22, 2026. Prospective candidates for various postgraduate (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, etc.) and P.G. Diploma courses for the Academic Year 2026-2027 must complete their registration by September 26, 2026, on the official TG CPGET admissions portal, cpgetadmissions.com.

This second phase of counselling follows the Phase 1 seat allotment, which was released on September 17, 2026. The Telangana Common Post Graduate Entrance Tests (TG CPGET) – 2026 are conducted by Kakatiya University for admissions into participating universities including Osmania, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru, Satavahana, Telangana Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological, and Dr. Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences Universities.

CPGET Phase 2 Registration and Verification Process

Candidates are required to complete both registration and online certificate verification between September 22 and September 26, 2026. The counselling flow involves several steps: registration, payment of a processing fee, certificate verification, web options entry, seat allotment, and finally, reporting to the allotted college. Candidates should have their CPGET login details and necessary certificates prepared for the registration process.

The counselling fee is set at ₹200 for General and Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates, while Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates are required to pay ₹150. The CPGET Phase 2 Seat Allotment for 2026 is scheduled to be released on October 5, 2026. Dates for self-verification of details, web options entry, web option editing, and college reporting for Phase 2 are yet to be announced.

Eligibility and Seat Reservation Criteria

To be eligible for admission through CPGET, General, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and OBC candidates must have scored at least 25% marks in the CPGET paper. There is no minimum score requirement for SC/ST candidates. Also, there is no upper age limit for appearing in the entrance examination. For admission to M.Ed. And M.P.Ed. courses, general categories require a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their graduation degree, while SC/ST/OBC candidates need 50%.

A significant portion of the seats, 85%, is reserved for local candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The TG CPGET 2026 results were declared on August 5, 2026, with a total of 42,526 candidates successfully passing the examination.

Previous Counselling Schedule and Deadlines

The TG CPGET Counselling Notification 2026 was released on August 24, 2026. The initial online registration for TG CPGET Counselling 2026 was scheduled from August 24 to August 31, 2026, but was subsequently extended to September 2, 2026. Verification of details and corrections for TG CPGET Counselling 2026 took place on September 5, 2026.

Web options entry for Phase 1 was conducted from September 8 to September 10, 2026, with an editing window on September 11, 2026. The TG CPGET Phase 1 Seat Allotment was released on September 14, 2026, and the college reporting dates for Phase 1 were September 18, 2026. The deadline for CPGET Phase 1 fee payment and self-reporting was extended to September 23, 2026.
