DU UG Admission 2026: Delhi University Releases ECA Quota Trial Schedule; Physical Trials From July 16

Delhi University (DU) has officially released the detailed schedule and venues for the physical trials under the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) supernumerary quota for the 2026–27 undergraduate admissions. For candidates aiming to secure a seat through their artistic, cultural, or creative talents, the wait is over.

The physical assessments are scheduled to take place between July 16 and July 25, 2026. Since no individual or separate letters will be sent to candidates, it is crucial to understand your slot, reporting venue, and key guidelines to ensure you do not miss your chance.

Understanding the Scoring and Merit List

Securing admission under the ECA quota does not depend entirely on your trial performance. The final merit list is calculated using a combined score system:

  • 25% weightage is given to your CUET UG 2026 score.

  • 75% weightage is awarded based on your ECA physical trial performance.

The university has announced that candidates’ trial marks will be uploaded to the official admission portal around July 25 or 26, 2026. Following this, DU will open a grievance window for two to three days to address any discrepancies or concerns raised by the applicants.

Guide for Outstation Candidates

If you are traveling from outside Delhi, the university has issued a special advisory to help you plan your logistics:

  1. Book Travel and Stay Early: Do not wait for your individual, roll-number-specific time slot. Book your travel and accommodation near your designated nodal college for any date within the general trial range of your category.

  2. Rescheduling Requests: If your final allotted trial date clashes with an unchangeable travel itinerary, you can email DU at eca@admission.du.ac.in. The university will attempt to accommodate rescheduling requests as long as they fall within the category’s overall trial window.

  3. Strict No-Change Rule: Rescheduling requests will not be accepted for Creative Writing and Quiz categories, as these trials are conducted collectively on a single day.

Key Rules for Trial Day

  • Documents to Carry: Bring original copies of all ECA certificates uploaded during registration, along with your official CUET UG 2026 scorecard.

  • No Equipment Provided: You must carry your own instruments, costumes, props, writing materials, or mats. Borrowing or sharing is strictly prohibited at the trial centers.

  • Admissions Timing: The official 2026–27 academic session starts on July 28, 2026. All allocations under the sports and ECA quotas will be processed after or alongside the third round of the regular Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG).
