HNBGU UET 2026 registration reopens for B.Ed, M.Ed, LLB, LLM vacant seats

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), a Central University accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC), reopened its University Entrance Test (UET) 2026 registration window on September 19, 2026. This re-opening is specifically for eligible UET-2026 candidates to apply for vacant seats in B.Ed., M.Ed., Ll.B., and Ll.M programs for the academic session 2026–27.

The university aims to fill remaining seats in various postgraduate and postgraduate diploma programmes, with admission strictly based on UET-2026 performance, followed by subsequent processes such as counselling. The admission registration portal for the academic session 2026–27 is currently active for qualified applicants.

Registration Process for Vacant Seats

Eligible applicants who qualified in UET-2026 can register through the SAMARTH Admission Portal. To begin the process, applicants must first click on ‘Account Verification Code’ to verify their registered email ID. The username for the SAMARTH Admission Portal is the registered email ID, while the password uses the UET-2026 roll number followed by ‘#’ and the year of birth.

The university had previously opened online registration for vacant seats from September 4, 2026, to September 8, 2026, until 11:55 PM. The counselling for registered applicants for admission to the University Campuses was scheduled for September 14, 2026. This current re-opening on September 19, 2026, provides another opportunity for candidates to apply.

Admission Criteria and Next Steps

Admission to the B.Ed., M.Ed., Ll.B., and Ll.M programs will be strictly based on performance in the University Entrance Test (UET)- 2026. The allotment of seats will consider merit, eligibility, the reservation policy as per Government of India rules, the availability of seats, and the preferences submitted by the candidates. HNBGU ensures transparency and merit-based selection in its admission processes.

While eligible applicants must register online at the SAMARTH Admission Portal by selecting their preferred University Campus or affiliated College/Institute and programme, they are also advised to contact affiliated colleges or institutes directly for specific information regarding vacant seats and admission procedures at those institutions.

Timeline of UET 2026-27

The UET 2026-27 examination cycle has seen several key updates throughout the year. The University Entrance Test (UET) 2026-27 Result Notification was updated on July 15, 2026, following the publication of the official answer key on June 23, 2026. The examination schedule for UET 2026-27 was updated on June 3, 2026.

Earlier in the year, extensions for the online application form for UET 2026-27 were notified on May 29, 2026, and May 20, 2026. The Information Brochure UET 2026-27 was initially updated on April 24, 2026, marking the beginning of the application process for the academic session.
