Karnataka class 8 mid-term exams begin today, question papers and answer keys to be available

The Class 8 Mid-Term Examinations, officially termed the First Summative Assessment (SA1), for the academic year 2026-27 in Karnataka began today, September 23, 2026. These offline assessments, conducted by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) through schools across the state, are designed to evaluate students studying Class 8. The examinations will run daily from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM until September 30, 2026.

The SA1 exams cover core subjects including First Language, Mathematics, Third Language, Science, Social Science, and Second Language/Other Subject. Following each subject examination, question papers will be made available for download in PDF format, and subject experts will provide corresponding answer keys to assist students in assessing their performance.

Examination Schedule and Subjects

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Karnataka, is overseeing the Class 8 SA1 Mid-Term Exams for the 2026-27 academic year. The examinations are being held offline, with a consistent timing of 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM for all papers. Students are advised that while a tentative timetable has been released, they should consult their specific school timetables for the most accurate and confirmed details. Variations in language and other-subject papers may occur depending on the school and the language combination chosen by students.

These resources are intended to allow students to compare their responses and estimate their probable marks. The conversion formula for calculating CGPA from percentage is CGPA = Percentage / 9.5.
