MHT CET Law 2026 Schedule Revised: Check New CAP Dates for 3-Year and 5-Year LLB

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially released a revised schedule for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for both 3-Year and 5-Year LLB programs for the academic year 2026–27. The deadline for filling and locking the CAP Round 1 Option Form for both 3-Year and 5-Year LLB programs has been extended from August 9, 2026, to August 11, 2026. A total of 98 law colleges have been added to the choice pool across both programs, increasing the total available colleges from 149 to 247.

Candidates who have already locked their preferences are advised to log in and re-evaluate their college preference order to include newly added institutions. Candidates must submit options through the respective official course portals for 3-Year LLB and  for 5-Year LLB. Candidates seeking law admissions in Maharashtra state universities and affiliated colleges can now check the updated deadlines and choice-filling timelines directly on the official CET portals.

MHT CET Law 2026 CAP Round 1: What Changed?

The primary reason behind modifying the CAP Round 1 timeline was the inclusion of newly recognized institutions that received their Bar Council of India (BCI) approvals and university affiliation letters during the ongoing registration process.

The total pool of available law seats has significantly expanded:

• 3-Year LLB College Expansion: Increased from 93 colleges to 146 colleges (53 new additions).

• 5-Year LLB College Expansion: Increased from 56 colleges to 101 colleges (45 new additions).

• Total Choice Pool: Now stands at 247 colleges across Maharashtra.

The CET Cell highlighted that adding these colleges at this stage gives candidates broader choices, potentially improving seat allotment prospects based on merit scores. Candidates who had submitted their option form prior to the extension are strongly encouraged to unlock their choice lists and review the newly added colleges before final submission.

1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the Maharashtra CET Cell portal at cetcell.mahacet.org or directly access llb3cap26.mahacet.org / llb5cap26.mahacet.org.

2. Access Notifications: Click on the “Public Notice: Extension of Last Date for Option Form CAP Round-I” or “Revised CAP Schedule 2026” link under the Notifications section.

3. Log in to Candidate Portal: Enter your CAP Application ID and Password to sign in to your dashboard.

4. Edit & Review Option Form: Check the newly updated list of approved colleges under your stream.

5. Lock Choices & Save: Finalize your order of preference and lock the form before the revised deadline of August 11, 2026. Print a copy of the confirmed choice form for future reference.
