NEET PG 2026: Download scorecards from October 1

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) today, September 24, 2026, declared the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check their results on the official NBEMS website, natboard.edu.in.

The NEET PG 2026 examination serves as the gateway for admission to various postgraduate medical courses, including MD, MS, DNB, DrNB (Direct 6-year programmes), and PG Medical Diploma courses for the 2026-27 academic session. A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the examination nationwide.

NEET PG 2026 Examination and Re-Examination Details

The NEET PG 2026 examination was initially held on August 30, 2026. Following disruptions at two centres in Jaipur, a re-examination for affected candidates was conducted on September 5, 2026. The paper, which comprised 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with a maximum score of 720 marks, was generally rated as moderate to tough in difficulty by subject experts and candidates.

The marking scheme for the examination awarded +4 marks for each correct answer, deducted -1 mark for every incorrect answer, and assigned 0 marks for unattempted questions. This year, the total number of questions was reduced from 200 to 180 MCQs. The NBEMS maintains a strict policy against re-evaluation, re-checking, or re-totaling of marks.

Accessing Scorecards and Answer Key

Individual scorecards for NEET PG 2026 will be available for download from natboard.edu.in on or after October 1, 2026. These scorecards will remain accessible for download for a period of six months from their release date. Candidates are advised to retain a copy of their result and scorecard for the subsequent counselling process.

In a move towards greater transparency, the NEET PG 2026 answer key will also be published on the official NBEMS website on or after October 1, 2026. This publication is in compliance with the Supreme Court order dated April 29, 2025, in SLP No. 9298 of 2018. Candidates will be able to access question-wise details, including Question ID, correct answer key ID, marked response ID, and score awarded, through their individual applicant login.

Qualifying Criteria and Admission Process

Meeting the qualifying cut-off alone does not guarantee admission to postgraduate medical courses; candidature remains provisional, subject to the fulfillment of all eligibility requirements. The NEET PG 2026 result is valid exclusively for the 2026-27 admission session. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling process based on these results.

The qualifying cut-off scores for NEET PG 2026 have been set by NBEMS. For General/EWS candidates, the minimum qualifying percentile is the 50th percentile, corresponding to a cut-off score of 262 out of 720. General PwBD candidates require a 45th percentile, with a cut-off score of 244. SC/ST/OBC, including PwBD candidates of SC/ST/OBC, need to achieve the 40th percentile, translating to a cut-off score of 226.
