OUAT recruitment 2026: apply offline for 52 professor and associate director posts by October 28

Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, has released an official notification for the recruitment of 52 Professor and Associate Director of Research positions. The advertisement, dated September 25, 2026, invites applications from eligible candidates to fill senior academic roles across its teaching and research establishments.

The recruitment drive aims to strengthen various faculties, including Agricultural Science, Forestry Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Fishery Science, Community Science, Basic Science & Humanities, and Research. The application window for these positions closes on October 28, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

Application Process and Key Dates

Prospective candidates are required to apply offline for the Professor and Associate Director of Research positions. The official advertisement number for this recruitment is Advt. No. E-II-II-08/2026/15535/UAT. Applicants must download the prescribed application form from the official OUAT website, ouat.ac.in.

A non-refundable application fee of ₹1,500 is mandated for all candidates. Completed application forms, along with all necessary self-attested documents and proof of fee payment, must be dispatched via Speed Post or Registered Post to the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar. The university has set a strict deadline of October 28, 2026, 5:00 PM, for the receipt of all applications.

Eligibility Criteria and Pay Scale

To be considered eligible for these senior academic roles, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject, and a Ph.D. Also, applicants must possess relevant experience in teaching, research, or extension education. The maximum age limit for all applicants is 60 years.

For both Professor and Associate Director of Research positions, a minimum of 10 years of experience (excluding Ph.D. study) in teaching, research, or extension education is required. This experience must include at least 2 years as an Associate Professor or equivalent in the 7th CPC pay scale of level 13A. Selected candidates will be placed at Cell-1, Level-14 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with an initial basic pay of ₹1,44,200 per month, along with applicable Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances.

Vacancy Distribution and Selection Process

A total of 52 vacancies have been announced, with reservations for various categories. Out of the 52 positions, 12 are reserved for ST candidates (4 for women), 8 for SC candidates (3 for women), 6 for SEBC candidates (2 for women), and 26 for UR candidates (9 for women). In total, 18 positions are reserved for women across all categories.

The selection process for these positions is full, involving multiple stages. It includes an assessment of academic qualifications, evaluation of experience, assessment of teaching, research & extension activities, evaluation of publications and technologies, competitive research projects handled, recognition, and a final interview.
