SRMJEEE 2026 remote exam: download Safe Exam Browser, complete mock tests for eligibility

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has released detailed instructions and requirements for candidates appearing in the SRMJEEE 2026 Remote Proctored Online Mode (RPOM) exam. The university-level entrance examination, conducted for admission into B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech programs, mandates specific technical preparations and adherence to guidelines for its online format.

The SRMJEEE 2026 will be held in multiple phases, with Phase 1 scheduled from April 23 to April 28, 2026. The application window for SRMJEEE 2026 opened on October 30, 2025, with the last date for Phase 1 submission set for April 16, 2026. Mandatory Software and Technical Requirements

All candidates appearing for the SRMJEEE 2026 in Remote Proctored Online Mode must download and install Safe Exam Browser (SEB) prior to their scheduled exam day. For candidates using a desktop or laptop, Microsoft Windows 10 installation is a prerequisite for the RPOM. Mobile phone users are required to download specific mobile exam software, with the download link becoming available on the SRM University official website one to two days before the exam.

Device specifications include a minimum of 1GB RAM, a functional webcam, and a microphone. For internet connectivity, a minimum speed of 512 kbps is necessary, though 2-4 Mbps is strongly recommended for stability. Mobile phone users should ensure an active internet pack of at least 2GB. A wired LAN connection or a dedicated mobile hotspot is advised for enhanced internet stability during the examination.

Exam Day Protocols and Proctoring

On the day of the exam, candidates will receive the exam link via their registered email ID and mobile number. It is advised to log in 30-60 minutes early for pre-verification procedures. After logging in, document verification will be conducted by an online proctor, requiring candidates to display a valid ID proof such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Ration Card through the front camera.

The examination session will be supervised simultaneously by both a human proctor and an AI-based monitoring system. Candidates must ensure proper lighting, with light falling directly on their face, and their desk must be clear of all books, extra monitors, stationery, and water bottles with visible labels. Proctors may request a 360-degree room scan via webcam. Laptops should be plugged into a power source, while desktops require a UPS for uninterrupted power supply.

Compulsory Mock Tests and Slot Booking

To be eligible for the main SRMJEEE 2026 exam, candidates are required to attempt two mandatory mock tests. The link for these mock tests will be made available on the official SRM University website closer to the exam dates. During the mock test, login details will be captured and linked to the main exam session, serving as a crucial step for familiarisation with the online platform and proctoring environment.

SRM University specifies exam slots and timings, and candidates must book their preferred slot in advance through the Online Test Booking System. Following slot booking, candidates are advised to download their Admit Card immediately. The application fee for SRMJEEE 2026 is 1400 INR. The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes, comprising 130 questions for a total of 130 marks, with +1 for correct answers and no negative marking.
