The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) today, 17 September 2026, released the admit cards for the Combined Civil Services Examination – I (Group I Services) Prelims Exam 2026. Candidates can now download their TNPSC Group 1 Hall Ticket 2026 from the official website, www.tnpsc.gov.in, using their Login ID and Password.

The Prelims Exam is scheduled for 27 September 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, in a single shift. This examination aims to fill a total of 46 vacancies for various prestigious posts, including Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-I), Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes), Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Assistant Director of Rural Development, and District Employment Officer.
Revised Prelims Exam Date and Vacancies
The original Prelims Exam date was 6 September 2026, which was subsequently revised to 27 September 2026. This change was communicated via Addendum 5A/2026, dated 16 July 2026. The examination will be conducted at 38 District Centres across Tamil Nadu.
The notification number for the Combined Civil Services Examination – I (Group I Services) is 05/2026, with the notification date being 23 June 2026. While the recruitment drive aims to fill 46 vacancies, the total provisional vacancies for Notification 05/2026 are 26. The pay level for Group 1 services is Level 22, ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹2,05,700.
Application Process and Fees
The online application window for the TNPSC Group 1 services commenced on 30 June 2026, with the last date to apply online being 29 July 2026. The application correction window was open from 2 August to 4 August 2026. The Prelims Exam fee is ₹100, while the Mains Exam fee is ₹200 for selected candidates, unless exempted.
The Mains Exam date will be announced by the TNPSC after the Prelims result is declared. TNPSC typically issues admit cards 5 to 10 days before the examination date, aligning with the current release for the 27 September 2026 Prelims.
Instructions for Candidates on Exam Day
Candidates are required to carry a printed copy of their admit card and a valid original photo ID proof to the exam center.
