WB HS 3rd semester: Raise objections by December 2026; answer key in November

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is currently conducting the Higher Secondary (HS) 3rd semester examinations for the 2027 academic year. These examinations commenced on September 21, 2026, and are scheduled anyway on October 14, 2026.

Following the completion of the exams, the WBCHSE plans to release provisional answer keys in November 2026, allowing students to estimate their expected scores. A subsequent objection window will be provided in December 2026 for students to report any discrepancies, with the final answer key expected in February 2027.

WB Hs 3rd Semester Answer Key Release and Objection Process

The WBCHSE will release the official provisional answer key for the HS 3rd semester exam 2027 on its official website, wbchse.wb.gov.in, in November 2026. This provisional release is a standard procedure to enable students to cross-reference their responses and calculate potential scores before the official results are declared.

Students who identify any errors or discrepancies in the provisional answer key will be able to raise objections during a dedicated window in December 2026. The board will review these objections, and if accepted by subject experts, the challenge fee of 200 rupees per question per subject will be refunded. The final answer key, incorporating any necessary corrections, is then expected to be published in February 2027.

Examination Schedule and Previous Year’s Timeline

The ongoing WB HS 3rd semester examination includes a range of subjects, with specific papers scheduled on different dates. For instance, the Agriculture question paper was on September 22, 2026, English on September 24, 2026, and Economics on September 25, 2026. Physics and Accountancy papers were held on September 28, 2026, while Mathematics is scheduled for October 12, 2026, and Political Science for October 14, 2026.

Comparing with the previous academic cycle, the 3rd semester answer key for the WB Class 12th exam in 2025 was released on November 11, 2025, with the final answer key published on February 27, 2026. The revised answer key for the Semester-III (September 2025) examination has already been published, and challenged marks for that exam have been updated in the final mark sheets. The answer key for the Semester-III Supplementary HS exam 2026 was uploaded on February 28, 2026, with a challenge portal open from March 10 to March 12, 2026.

Procedure for Accessing Answer Keys and Raising Objections

To access the answer keys, students must visit the official WBCHSE website at wbchse.wb.gov.in. On the homepage, they should navigate to the ‘Notification’ section and locate the link titled ‘Answer Key of the Question Paper of All Subjects of Semester III HS Examination – 2027’.

Clicking this link will automatically download the answer key PDF. Students are advised to save this PDF for future reference.
