The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) today began conducting the BPSC TRE 4.0 examination for school teacher posts across Bihar. Qualifying Marks and Cut-Off Criteria for TRE 4.0

Examination Structure and Eligibility Requirements

The BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam 2026 is based on a merit of 120 marks. This includes 80 marks from the subject-specific paper and 40 marks from General Studies. The recruitment drive includes 16,101 posts at the Class 11-12 level, among others.

Age criteria for applicants vary by post. For Class 1-5 and 6-8 teachers, the minimum age is 18 years as on August 1, 2026. For Class 9-10 and 11-12 teachers, the minimum age is 21 years as on August 1, 2026. The maximum age for UR-Male candidates is 37 years, for UR-Female it is 40 years, for BC/EBC-Male & Female it is 40 years, and for SC/ST-Male & Female it is 42 years. Specific educational qualifications are also mandated for various teaching roles, such as studying particular subject combinations at the graduation level for Social Science and Math & Science Middle School Teachers. For PGT Computer Science, a B.Ed degree is not mandatory, while for PGT Commerce, an M.Com in Applied/Business Economics is not considered eligible.
