CLAT 2027 scorecard release expected in late December or early January

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is set to release the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 scorecard tentatively in the last week of December 2026 or early January 2027. This crucial document, providing candidates with their examination performance details, will be made available on the Consortium’s official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, under the candidate’s login.

The CLAT 2027 examination, a national-level entrance test for admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses in 26 participating National Law Universities, is scheduled to be conducted offline on December 6, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. The scorecard’s release is a key step preceding the CLAT Counselling process, which is expected to commence in January 2027.

CLAT 2027 Scorecard Details and Access

The CLAT 2027 scorecard will contain essential information for each candidate, including their name, application or roll number, the CLAT programme they applied for, marks scored, rank, and percentile where applicable. This document is mandatory for participation in the subsequent counselling process.

To download the scorecard, candidates will need to visit the official portal, log into their CLAT 2027 account, and follow the provided link to access their result and scorecard. It is advised that candidates retain a copy of their scorecard even after the counselling process concludes, as it serves as an official record of their CLAT performance. Any discrepancies found in the downloaded document should be reported to the Consortium through their communication channels within the specified grievance period, which lasts for one week from the result announcement.

Key Dates for CLAT 2027 Examination Process

The CLAT 2027 notification was released on July 22, 2026, with registrations commencing on August 3, 2026, and concluding on October 31, 2026. Following the examination on December 6, 2026, the provisional answer key is tentatively scheduled for release on December 7, 2026. Candidates will have an objection window for the provisional answer key, which is expected to close on December 10, 2026. The final answer key for both UG and PG exams is tentatively scheduled for December 11, 2026, leading up to the result and scorecard declaration.

The Consortium of National Law Universities, established on August 19, 2017, comprises twenty-six member NLUs. Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey, Vice-Chancellor, MNLU Mumbai, serves as the current President, with Prof. (Dr.) Amar Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, RMLNLU, Lucknow, as the Vice-President.

CLAT 2027 Exam Structure and Counselling Process

The CLAT 2027 exam has a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes) and consists of 120 multiple-choice questions. The marking scheme awards +1 for each correct answer and deducts -0.25 for each incorrect answer. The exam is conducted in English. In cases where two or more candidates achieve the same marks, tie-breaker rules will be applied: higher scores in the legal aptitude section, greater age, followed by a computerized draw of lots.

The counselling process, expected to begin in January 2027, requires candidates to pay a one-time refundable counselling deposit. This deposit is INR 30,000 for General students and INR 20,000 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, BC, EWS, and PwD categories.
