DSSSB recruitment 2026: apply for 641 Delhi court vacancies by 4 November

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) today, 01 October 2026, announced recruitment for 641 tentative vacancies across various posts in the Delhi District & Sessions Courts and Family Courts. The online application window for these positions will open on 06 October 2026 and close on 04 November 2026.

This recruitment drive, detailed in Advertisement No. 04/2026 released on 30 September 2026, aims to fill roles such as Senior Personal Assistant, Personal Assistant, Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server, and Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon. Eligible candidates are advised to apply through the official online portal, dsssbonline.nic.in.
Application Process and Fee Structure
Candidates interested in these positions can submit their online applications from 12:00 noon on 06 October 2026 until 11:00 PM on 04 November 2026. The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS male candidates is INR 100. However, women candidates across all categories, as well as those belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and eligible Ex-Servicemen categories, are exempted from paying the application fee. All fees must be paid online via SBI e-pay.

Applicants are required to ensure they meet all eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications and age limits, as of 04 November 2026. Required documents such as a recent colour photograph, signature, educational certificates, and category certificates should be kept ready for the online application process.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Relaxation
The age limit for all five posts is set between 18 and 27 years as on 01 June 2026. This means candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 June 1999 and not later than 01 June 2008. Age relaxations are provided for various reserved categories. SC/ST candidates receive a 5-year relaxation, OBC candidates get 3 years, PwBD + UR/EWS candidates are eligible for 10 years, PwBD + OBC for 13 years, and PwBD + SC/ST for 15 years. Ex-Servicemen receive age relaxation equivalent to their military service plus 3 years, subject to a maximum age of 55 years. Government employees are not eligible for age relaxation as per DDC Rules, 2012.

Educational qualifications vary by post. For Senior Personal Assistant, a graduate degree with a shorthand speed of at least 110 wpm and a typing speed of 40 wpm is required. Personal Assistant requires a graduate degree with 100 wpm shorthand, 40 wpm typing, and computer knowledge. Junior Judicial Assistant applicants need a graduate degree with a typing speed of at least 40 wpm on a computer. Process Server candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent/Higher Secondary, possess an LMV driving licence, and have 2 years of unblemished driving experience. For Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon, a Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised board is sufficient.
Selection Process and Examination Patterns
The selection process for the DSSSB Combined Examination 2026 involves multiple stages, including a written examination (objective type/MCQ), skill tests (typing/shorthand as applicable), document verification, and a medical examination. The specific stages vary depending on the post applied for. For Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant, the stages are Tier I MCQ, Tier II Descriptive Test, Tier III Shorthand/Typing Skill Test, and Tier IV Interview. Junior Judicial Assistant follows a similar path but with a Typing Test in Tier III. Process Server candidates will undergo Tier I MCQ, Tier II Driving Test, and Tier III Interview, while Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon applicants will face Tier I MCQ and Tier II Interview.

The Tier-I MCQ examination patterns also differ by post. Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant exams will have 90 questions for 90 marks covering General English & Comprehension, General Knowledge including Current Affairs, and General Intelligence. Junior Judicial Assistant Tier-I will have 120 questions for 120 marks across the same subjects. Process Server and Peon Tier-I exams will each consist of 100 objective questions for 100 marks, covering English, Hindi, General Knowledge including Current Affairs, and Arithmetic.
Vacancy Distribution and Salary Details
A total of 641 tentative vacancies have been announced across the Delhi District & Sessions Courts (DC) and Family Courts (FC). The highest number of vacancies is for Personal Assistant with 206 posts, followed by Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon with 142 posts. Junior Judicial Assistant has 174 vacancies, Process Server has 92, and Senior Personal Assistant has 27 positions. These vacancies are based on inputs from the Indenting Departments/Bodies.

The salary structure for these posts follows the 7th Central Pay Commission. Senior Personal Assistant falls under Pay Level 8 with a starting basic pay of INR 47,600. Personal Assistant is at Pay Level 7 with a starting basic pay of INR 44,900. Junior Judicial Assistant is at Pay Level 5 (INR 29,200), Process Server at Pay Level 4 (INR 25,500), and Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon at Pay Level 3 (INR 21,700).
