IIIT Bangalore BTech and IMTech Round 1 Online Counselling 2026 on July 13

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) will conduct the Round 1 Live Online Counselling for admission to its BTech and Integrated MTech (IMTech) programmes. The IITB Btech and IMTech Round 1 online counselling is scheduled for 13th July 2026.  IITB released an official document regarding the same on 7th July 2026 and the registrations closed on 9th July. Candidates who will be allotted seats in this round must report to the campus on or before 16th July 2026. 

IIIT Bangalore follows a preference-based sliding process in which candidates may be upgraded to a higher-preferred programme if seats become available. The sliding is based on the programme preferences submitted during application and cannot be modified later.

Seat allotment is determined by the candidate’s Best JEE Rank (BJR) and preferences. Candidates allotted a seat must confirm their admission by accepting the offer and paying the required fee. Further counselling rounds will be held only if seats remain vacant after this round.

Eligibility for IIITB Online Counseling for BTech and IMTech?

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIIT Bangalore to register for the Live Online Round 1 Counselling for BTech and Integrated MTech admissions.

To be eligible, candidates must:

• Have already applied for IIIT Bangalore BTech/Integrated MTech Admissions 2026.
• Have a Best JEE Rank (BJR) of 10,000 or better.
• Note that the Best JEE Rank (BJR) is calculated using the better of the JEE Main CRL and JEE Advanced CRL (if available). Category ranks are not considered for computing the BJR.
• Be eligible regardless of the programme preferences filled in the application form or whether they received an admission offer in the earlier rounds.
• Candidates who have already accepted admission by paying the acceptance fee can also participate if they wish to slide to another branch, irrespective of the preferences submitted in their original application.

Important: During the Live Online Rounds, the branch preferences submitted in the application form will not apply. Registered candidates can opt for any available branch during counselling, subject to seat availability.

What is the Best JEE Rank at IIITB Online Counseling?

The first three admission lists released by IIIT Bangalore indicate that admission to BTech and IMTech programmes has been offered to candidates with JEE Main/Advanced Common Rank List (CRL) ranks ranging from around 3,300 to 7,000, depending on the programme and admission round. Among the latest published cut-offs (Round 3), BTech CSE closed at CRL 4,969, while Integrated MTech ECE closed at CRL 7,027. Candidates with ranks within or close to this range generally have a better chance of securing a seat during the live online counselling if vacancies arise.

How to Register for IIITB Round 1 Online Counseling?

Eligible candidates must complete the registration process within the prescribed deadline to participate in the Live Online Round 1 Counselling. IIIT Bangalore has outlined the following registration procedure:

1. Check your registered email for the registration link sent by IIIT Bangalore.
2. Complete the online registration before the deadline. Registration is mandatory.
3. After registering, you will receive a Rank Token Number based on your Best JEE Rank (BJR).
4. IIIT Bangalore will then email you the Live Online Counselling link, Rank Token Number, and detailed instructions for the counselling session

Documents Required for IIIT Bangalore BTech & IMTech Online Counselling 2026

Candidates should keep the following documents ready:

• JEE Main 2026 scorecard/rank card
• Class 10 mark sheet and certificate
• Class 12 mark sheet and certificate
• Valid photo identity proof
• Passport-size photographs
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Admission offer letter (after seat allotment)
• Fee payment receipt and other documents specified by IIIT Bangalore

What Happens After IIITB Round 1 Online Counselling?

Candidates who are allotted seats during the live online counselling must confirm their admission by completing the required fee payment and document verification within the deadline specified by IIIT Bangalore.

 After successful confirmation, candidates are required to report to the campus on July 16, 2026. If seats remain vacant after Round 1, the institute may conduct additional live online counselling rounds on July 21 and July 31, as mentioned in the admission schedule.

• Live Online Round 1 will be conducted only if vacancies are available.
• Keep a stable internet connection and a laptop/desktop ready during the counselling session.
• Join the counselling at the scheduled reporting time.

• Failure to complete admission formalities within the prescribed timeline may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
