MAT September 2026: Download scorecard by first week of October

The All India Management Association (AIMA) is expected to make the MAT September 2026 result and scorecard available by the first week of October 2026. While an official announcement for the result date has not been issued by AIMA, past trends indicate that scorecards are typically uploaded within 10 to 14 days of the examination.

The MAT September 2026 exams were held on September 13, 2026, for the Paper-Based Test (PBT) and on September 20, 2026, for the Computer-Based Test (CBT). The scorecard will be crucial for candidates seeking admission to MBA/PGDM programs, as over 700 MBA colleges in India accept MAT scores.

Accessing the MAT September 2026 Scorecard

Candidates will be able to download their MAT September 2026 result cum scorecard exclusively from the official exam website, mat.aima.in. AIMA will inform test takers about the availability of the scorecard through individual communication channels, including email notifications.

To download the scorecard, candidates will need to log in to the portal using their registration number and email ID. Once logged in, the MAT scorecard will appear on the screen and can be downloaded as a PDF document. The MAT 2026 scorecard is valid for one year from the exam date.

Understanding MAT Scoring and Percentile

AIMA employs a scoring process where candidates are scored on a scale of 200 to 800 for their Composite Score. The MAT score report carries six scores: five sectional scores, each on a 0 to 100 scale, and one Composite Score. The Composite Score is derived from all five sections with equal weightage. AIMA normalizes raw scores before scaling them to ensure fairness across different sessions of the exam. the Economic and Business Environment section is not counted towards percentile calculation.

There are no fixed MAT exam pass marks, as each participating B-school sets its own cut-off for admissions. Based on expected trends, a composite score between 750 and 800 could translate to a percentile between 98 and 99. Key Dates and Exam Structure

The MAT exam is conducted four times a year, typically in February, May, September, and December sessions. The September 2026 session saw registrations close on September 7, 2026, for PBT and September 14, 2026, for CBT. Admit cards were released on September 10, 2026, for PBT and September 17, 2026, for CBT. The exam duration is 120 minutes (2.5 hours), comprising 150 multiple-choice questions across five sections. The marking scheme includes one mark for a correct answer and a deduction of 0.25 for a wrong one.

The application fee for a single MAT mode (PBT or CBT) is 2,300 rupees, while opting for both modes in the same session costs 4,000 rupees. This fee structure was revised upwards from the May 2026 session onwards. The exam pattern was also revised to 150 multiple-choice questions in 120 minutes across five sections.
