NEET UG 2026 Andhra Pradesh NRI counselling: web options open until 28 September

Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada, commenced the web options facility for Phase-I MBBS counselling for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) category seats for the 2026–27 academic year today, 27 September 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their college preferences online at https://drntr.uhsap.in until 5:00 PM on 28 September 2026.

This phase of counselling is specifically for NRI seats, following the display of the Final Merit Position list on 27 September 2026. A total of 727 NRI MBBS seats are available across various institutions, including government and private medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

NRI Seat Distribution and Eligibility

The counselling process covers NRI seats in new government medical colleges, private un-aided medical colleges (both minority and non-minority), and Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women. According to NTRUHS, 136 NRI seats are available in government colleges, 546 in private non-minority colleges, and 45 in private minority colleges and SVIMS women’s college combined. The university fee for Competent Authority NRI and Category C/NRI, including SVIMS Women, is ₹70,100.

An ‘Actual NRI Candidate’ is defined as a person holding valid NRI status under Indian law. Foreign students and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders, including Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card holders, are eligible for these NRI seats. Candidates who registered as PIO or OCI on or after 4 March 2021 are eligible only for NRI seats and cannot compete for seats reserved exclusively for Indian citizens. The university will verify all original certificates during admission, with any discrepancy or false documents leading to immediate seat cancellation.

Web Option Submission Process and Key Dates

The web options window opened at 6:00 PM on 27 September 2026 and will close at 5:00 PM on 28 September 2026. Candidates must exercise their college preferences during this 23-hour period. Once submitted, the options cannot be changed. Upon logging in and submitting their choices, candidates will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on their registered mobile number and email for confirmation. It is mandatory for candidates to print a copy of their saved options for their records.

This Phase-I NRI counselling follows an earlier notification dated 13 September 2026. Previous counselling phases for other categories, such as Phase-I MBBS counselling for Competent Authority self-financing and Management Quota B1, B2, had web options open from 10:00 AM on 12 September to 10:00 AM on 15 September 2026. The reporting deadline for MBBS Phase-II Competent Authority Quota admissions for 2026-27 was extended up to 4:00 PM on 26 September 2026.

Post-Allotment Procedures

Following the seat allotment, candidates are required to report to their assigned college by the specific date and time indicated in their allotment order, according to Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada. Failure to adhere to this deadline will result in the automatic cancellation of the admission without further notice.

The Andhra Pradesh NEET UG Counselling 2026 is a centralized admission process for MBBS and BDS seats in government, private, and minority medical and dental colleges. Admission is strictly based on the NEET UG 2026 rank, followed by online counselling. The university will verify all original certificates during admission, and any discrepancy or false documents will lead to immediate seat cancellation.
