  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the official NIFT admissions page at nift.admissions.nic.in.

  2. Locate the Link: Under the “Candidate Activity Board”, click on the link titled “Round 2 Seat Allotment Result for NIFT UG/PG Counselling 2026”.

  5. Download Allotment Letter: If allocated a seat, click to download and save your Provisional Seat Allotment Letter for future verification rounds.

Mandatory Next Steps After Seat Allocation

Securing an allocation in Round 2 does not guarantee final admission unless you complete the mandatory post-allotment steps. The window for these actions is open from July 7 to July 9, 2026.

1. Submit Your “Willingness”

Upon checking your result, you must select one of the following options based on your preference:

  • Freeze: Choose this if you are entirely satisfied with the allotted campus and course and do not wish to participate in the third round.

  • Float: Choose this if you want to accept the current seat but wish to be considered for a higher preference choice in Round 3 counselling.

2. Pay the Admission Fee

To lock and confirm your seat provisionally, you must pay the required seat acceptance fee online via net banking, credit card, or debit card.

Important Note: Failure to submit your willingness or clear the admission fee by July 9, 2026 (12:00 Midnight) will result in the automatic cancellation of your allotted seat. The candidate will also lose the right to claim that seat in subsequent rounds.

3. Online Document Verification

The authority will verify your pre-uploaded documents against the minimum eligibility criteria of your chosen course. Keep a close check on your portal for any query or clarification raised by the verifying officer.

What if You Want to Withdraw?

If a candidate has already secured a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 but wants to withdraw from the NIFT admission process altogether, they can do so within this window. The option to initiate an online seat withdrawal is active up to July 9, 2026 (12:00 Midnight). A nominal processing charge will be deducted from the initial refund amount as per official policy guidelines.

What Lies Ahead: NIFT Round 3 Counselling

For candidates who choose the ‘Float’ option or did not receive any allotment in this round, the admission window is still open. NIFT will kickstart the Round 3 Counselling registration and application form correction window on July 11, 2026. A tentative vacancy chart will be uploaded shortly to help students modify their preferences strategically before the Round 3 allotment schedule releases on July 15, 2026.
