NIOS 10th, 12th date sheet 2026 for October session released: exams begin October 22

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) officially released the date sheet for its Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) theory examinations for the October/November 2026 session. The notification and date sheet were issued on October 8, 2026, and are now available for students on the official websites, sdmis.nios.ac.in and nios.ac.in.

These examinations are scheduled to begin on October 22, 2026, and will conclude on December 7, 2026. The release of this schedule follows the conclusion of practical examinations for the same session, which were conducted from September 14 to September 29, 2026, at designated study centres.

NIOS October 2026 Theory Examination Schedule

The theory examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 will commence on October 22, 2026, and are set to wrap up on December 7, 2026. Most theory exams are typically conducted in the afternoon shift, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, with a standard duration of three hours for each subject. Students are advised to verify their specific subject codes against their registration or exam records to ensure accuracy.

The NIOS conducts public examinations twice annually, catering to learners in both the April/May and October/November sessions. The date sheet provides complete details including exam dates, subject codes, and timings for all listed subjects.

Accessing the Date Sheet and Hall Tickets

Students can download the date sheet by visiting nios.ac.in, navigating to the ‘Notification’ tab, selecting ‘Examination & Result’, and clicking on the relevant link for the October/November 2026 session. It is recommended that students take a printout of the date sheet for easy reference.

Hall tickets for these examinations will be made available for download from the official NIOS website at a later date. To download the admit card, students will need to visit nios.ac.in, click on the NIOS 10th and 12th hall ticket PDF link, and use their application number and date of birth as login credentials. Students are advised to reach their examination centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Results and Previous Examination Cycles

The results for the October/November 2026 examinations are likely to be announced approximately seven weeks after the last date of the examination. This aligns with the typical timeline for NIOS result declarations.

For context, the NIOS April/May 2026 session saw theory exams conducted from April 10, 2026, to May 6, 2026, with practical exams held between March 17 and April 1, 2026. The results for the April 2026 session were expected to be declared in late June 2026, following a similar seven-week post-examination period.
