Applicants for the Study UK Alumni Awards 2027 must have graduated from a UK institution between 2011 and 2026 and currently reside outside of the UK. The awards are structured across four distinct categories: Science and Sustainability; Culture, Creativity and Sport; Social Action; and Business and Innovation. These categories aim to encompass the diverse range of impact UK alumni are creating worldwide.

For instance, Dr Marco Zaki, who completed his PhD in Oncology and Cancer Biology in 2019, was a global finalist in the Science and Sustainability category in 2022. Professor Kevin Tai, who earned a BA Hons in English Language and Literature in 2017, won the Social Action award at the Hong Kong awards ceremony in April 2026. Also, Professor Ahmad AlAdeem, who completed an MSc in Applied Chemistry in 2005, was a finalist in the Business and Innovation category at the national Saudi Arabia awards this year.
