ICAI CA January 2027 exam dates out: Foundation, Intermediate schedules released

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced the complete examination schedule for the CA Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 sessions on September 23, 2026. This announcement includes specific exam dates, timings, and paper durations, providing candidates across India and abroad with the necessary information to plan their preparation.

The release of the official date sheet aims to offer clarity to aspirants for the upcoming examinations. The CA Intermediate exams are scheduled to begin on January 2, 2027, with the CA Foundation examinations following on January 3, 2027. The schedule specifies distinct dates for different groups and papers, along with details regarding application form windows and associated fees.

Ca Intermediate and Foundation Examination Schedule

The ICAI has outlined separate schedules for the Intermediate and Foundation examinations. Intermediate exams will be conducted in two groups, while Foundation exams will take place on four separate dates. All CA Intermediate papers are set for a three-hour duration, from 2 PM to 5 PM. Foundation Papers 1 and 2 will also be three hours long, from 2 PM to 5 PM, while Foundation Papers 3 and 4 will be two hours, from 2 PM to 4 PM.

Candidates for applicable Intermediate papers and Foundation Papers 1 and 2 will receive 15 minutes of advance reading time, from 1:45 PM to 2 PM. No advance reading time will be provided for Foundation Papers 3 and 4. The ICAI has stated that the examination schedule will remain unchanged even if an examination date is later declared a public holiday.

Application and Registration Details

The application window for the CA Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 examinations is expected to open in the first week of November 2026. Candidates must complete their 12th class from any recognized board to be eligible for the CA Foundation exam. Also, candidates were required to complete their CA Foundation registration form by September 1, 2026.

The last date to submit the CA Foundation exam form without a late fee is the third week of November 2026. A late fee of Rs. 600 will apply for submissions made in the fourth week of November 2026 for Indian students, while international students will incur a late fee of $10 USD. A correction window for the January 2027 exam is also anticipated to open in November 2026 and close in late November 2026.

Examination Fees and Admit Card Information

The examination fees for the CA Foundation exam vary based on the center location. For Indian Centers, the fee is Rs. 1,500. Candidates appearing from Kathmandu (Nepal) will pay Rs. 2,200, and those from Overseas Centers will pay $325. The ICAI will release the admit cards for the January 2027 exams approximately 14-15 days before the commencement of the examinations.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official ICAI website, icai.org, for updates regarding admit cards, examination centers, and other instructions. The CA Final January 2027 dates have not yet been announced by the Institute.
