This Mop Up phase represents the final opportunity to fill vacant MBBS seats across government, private un-aided non-minority, and minority medical colleges in Telangana, following the conclusion of earlier counselling rounds. Candidates who have been on the final merit list and participated in the first phase of counselling are eligible to apply for these remaining seats.

Eligibility and Mandatory Joining Conditions

For the Mop Up phase, specific eligibility criteria apply. Candidates must have been included in the final merit list for the Competent Authority Quota, which KNRUHS published on its website on August 28, 2026. In addition, it was mandatory for candidates to have exercised web options during the first phase of counselling to qualify for this final round. Certificates must have been uploaded during the initial online registration process and provisionally verified.

A critical condition for this phase is the mandatory joining after seat allotment. Candidates who receive a seat in the Mop Up phase and either do not join or withdraw after joining will incur a penalty of ₹20 lakh and face a 3-year debarment from KNRUHS MBBS admissions. The last date for free exit (withdrawal without penalty) was October 8, 2026. After this date, no free exit option is available, and any withdrawal will result in the stipulated penalty and debarment.

Candidates who were allotted a seat in an earlier phase but did not join are not eligible for the Mop Up round. Similarly, those who joined and next discontinued their admission are also ineligible. However, candidates who were allotted a seat in a previous phase, joined, and are still continuing their admission are eligible to exercise fresh options in this Mop Up round. Candidates admitted under MCC (national-level) counselling up to the third phase are not eligible for KNRUHS CQ Mop Up counselling.

Web Option Entry and Application Process

The web option entry window for the Mop Up phase opened at 5:00 PM on October 12, 2026, and will close at 5:00 PM on October 14, 2026. Eligible candidates are required to log in to the official portal, tsmedadm.tsche.in, using their credentials. The process involves reviewing the seat matrix and available colleges, selecting colleges and seats in order of preference, and then confirming and saving the options by entering a password (OTP). It is advised to take a printout of the saved options.

After a seat is allotted, candidates must download the allotment order from the portal, which requires paying a university fee of ₹12,000. Then, they must report to the Principal of the allotted college, submit original certificates and relevant bonds, and pay the tuition fees by the deadline specified in the allotment order.
