Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Women’s College today, September 23, 2026, released the interview schedule and the lists of eligible and not eligible candidates for the Assistant Professor (Contractual) positions in Urdu. This recruitment drive is for temporary appointments valid until the end of the Academic Session 2026-2027 or until the General Selection Committee (GSC) is held, whichever occurs first.

The university had previously invited online applications for these contractual Assistant Professor positions through local advertisement No. 01/2026 – 2027. The selection process involves an initial scrutiny of applications followed by an interview.

Interview Schedule and Candidate Eligibility

The list of eligible and not eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor (Contractual) in Urdu, Women’s College 2026-27 was released on September 22, 2026. After that, the detailed list of eligible/not eligible candidates along with the date and time for the Local Selection Committee/Interview was released on September 23, 2026. Earlier, the specific date of interview for these posts was released on September 21, 2026.

The schedule for the Local Selection Committee interview for Assistant Professor (Contractual) in Urdu for the 2026-27 academic session had also been released on August 17, 2026, and again on August 18, 2026. Candidates are advised that no separate interview letters will be issued, and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The interview will be conducted at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Arts, AMU, Aligarh.

Aligarh Muslim University had invited online applications for these contractual positions. A non-refundable processing fee of ₹500/- was required for each application form, with PwD candidates being exempted from this fee. Eligibility Criteria and Remuneration

To be eligible for these contractual Assistant Professor positions, candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned subject. In addition, candidates were required to have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET), or State Eligibility Test (SET), or hold a Ph.D. degree as per University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations 2009 or 2016.

Appointed Assistant Professors (Contractual) will receive a fixed salary equivalent to the initial pay of a newly appointed Assistant Professor, in accordance with University norms.
