AP PGECET 2026 counselling: SAAP to conduct skills test on September 28

The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) is scheduled to conduct skills tests on September 28, 2026, for students seeking MTech admission under the physical eligibility or sports quota through AP PGECET web-counselling 2026. This test is a mandatory step for candidates applying under this specific quota.

The Commissionerate of Higher Education, Andhra Pradesh, released a notification regarding these skills tests, which will take place at Acharya Nagarjuna University Campus in Guntur. The AP PGECET is a state-level entrance examination for admission to M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, and Pharm.D (PB) courses, with its counselling process managed by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Skills Test Guidelines and Required Documents

Candidates must attend the SAAP skills test at Acharya Nagarjuna University Campus, Guntur, by 8:00 AM on September 28, 2026. Strict adherence to attire and equipment guidelines is necessary, as candidates without proper sports attire and shoes appropriate for their chosen discipline will face disqualification. The venue will provide only standard ground facilities, requiring applicants to bring their specialized sports equipment or gear, such as rackets, bats, and safety guards.

For document verification at the skills test, candidates must present their AP PGECET rank card and hall ticket, Class 10/SSC marksheet, original National/State-Level Sports Merit Certificates, and a government-issued valid ID proof. These documents are crucial for confirming eligibility under the sports quota.

AP PGECET 2026 Counselling Schedule

The AP PGECET 2026 counselling process is currently ongoing, with several key dates remaining. The Higher Education Department, Andhra Pradesh, released the revised counselling schedule. Online counselling registration and fee payment are open until September 27, 2026. The online verification of uploaded certificates at notified helpline centres will conclude on September 28, 2026.

Registered and eligible candidates can exercise their web-options from September 23 to September 29, 2026, with a facility for changing web options available on September 30, 2026. The AP PGECET Seat Allotment Result is scheduled for declaration on October 4, 2026. Following the seat allotment, self-joining and reporting to the allotted colleges will take place from October 5 to 8, 2026.

Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, conducts the AP PGECET on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Candidates with valid GATE or GPAT scores are given preference for admission before AP PGECET-qualified candidates. The counselling process is centralized and online, managed through the Andhra Pradesh Centralized Admission Portal (AP CAP).
