CSEET October 2026 examination continues today with economic and business environment paper

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is currently conducting the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) October 2026 examination. Today, October 5, 2026, candidates are appearing for the Economic and Business Environment paper at designated test centres across the country. The examination series commenced on October 1, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on October 7, 2026.

The CSEET serves as the initial stage for individuals aspiring to pursue a career as a Company Secretary. The admit cards for this session were released by ICSI on September 22, 2026, and are mandatory for entry into the examination hall. Graduates and post-graduates are directly eligible for admission to the CS Executive Program but are also required to pass the CSEET, while those who have passed the CS Foundation Program or the Final Exam of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) are exempted.

CSEET October 2026 Examination Schedule and Question Paper Release

The CSEET October 2026 examination is being conducted over four dates, with specific subjects assigned to each day. The examination for Business Communication took place on October 1, 2026, followed by Fundamentals of Accounting on October 3, 2026. Today’s paper is Economic and Business Environment, and the series will conclude with Business Law and Management on October 7, 2026.

ICSI has stated that the subject-wise CSEET October 2026 question paper PDFs will be released shortly after each examination is concluded. These question papers are intended to help candidates understand the exam pattern, improve time management for future attempts, and build confidence. The examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted in an MCQ pattern, with a duration of 120 minutes. A viva-voce on Presentation and Communication Skills, lasting 15 minutes for 30 marks, is conducted either simultaneously or immediately after the MCQ-based CBT.

Restructured CSEET Pattern and Passing Criteria

The restructured CSEET comprises four papers: Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, Economic & Business Environment, and Business Laws & Management. Three of these four papers are subjective, while one is OMR-based. To qualify the CSEET, a student must achieve a minimum of 40% in each individual paper and an aggregate overall score of at least 50%.

The examination enrolment fee for the CSEET is ₹1,500 per session, with an additional late fee of ₹250. The registration fee for the CSEET is ₹7,500. Candidates are also required to pass the ICSI Pre-Exam Test, a mandatory online, subject-wise MCQ test, before submitting the exam form for CS Executive or Professional examinations. This pre-exam test has specific requirements, including a minimum of 40% in each subject and a deduction of 25% of marks for every wrong answer.

Upcoming CSEET Sessions and Registration Deadlines

Following the ongoing October 2026 session, ICSI has opened registration windows for subsequent CSEET examinations. The registration window for the CSEET February 2027 session commenced on July 1, 2026, and will remain open until October 31, 2026. This allows prospective candidates ample time to register for the next examination cycle. The examination enrolment for the February 2027 session without a late fee is from November 16, 2026, to December 15, 2026.

In addition, the registration window for the CSEET June 2027 session is scheduled to open on November 1, 2026, and will close on February 28, 2027. Candidates are advised to complete the Student Induction Programme (SIP) as a prerequisite for enrolling in the CSEET examination under the restructured framework. The admit card for the October 2026 session was released on September 22, 2026, and candidates could download it from the official ICSI website.
