The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is currently conducting the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) October 2026 examination, which commenced on October 1, 2026, and will conclude on October 6, 2026. This entrance examination, held in an offline, centre-based, pen-and-paper format, is a prerequisite for admission to the CS Executive Programme.

The CSEET examination has undergone significant restructuring, with the new syllabus becoming effective from this October 2026 session. Previously conducted online via remote proctoring, the exam transitioned to an offline mode starting with the June 2026 session and is now held three times a year: in February, June, and October.

CSEET October 2026 Examination Schedule and Pattern

The CSEET October 2026 examination comprises four papers, each carrying 100 marks, for a total of 400 marks. Candidates are required to achieve a minimum of 40% marks in each individual paper and an aggregate of at least 50% across all four papers to pass. There is no negative marking for the OMR-based paper.

The examination schedule includes a 15-minute reading window from 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM before the writing time begins for each paper. The first three papers are subjective with a three-hour duration, while the fourth paper is objective (MCQ-based) with a two-hour duration. The question paper language for all subjects is English.

Business Communication Paper Analysis

The CSEET Business Communication Question Paper for October 2026 was conducted on October 1, 2026. This paper, carrying 100 marks, assesses candidates on English grammar, vocabulary, business drafting, comprehension, and corporate communication channels. Graduates and post-graduates are directly eligible for admission to the CS Executive Programme and are not required to take the CSEET examination. The CSEET exam serves as the entrance examination for other candidates seeking admission to the CS Executive Programme.

The examination timing for the first three papers (Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, and Economic and Business Environment) is from 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM. The Business Laws and Management paper, which is objective, has an exam timing from 2:30 PM to 4:45 PM.
